I read on Softpedia that " The ROM would work with radio version 2.05.00.06.11. In case there are some with the radio version 1.00.03.04.06, they would have to update the radio." How do I update my radio? I have the 1.00.04.04.06 Baseband Version... Can't wait for my update!

Thanks to all who respond (nicely)...

It should all be rolled into the OTA package, the radio update was for custom roms, not the official OTA

When the hell is this update coming out? It's almost noon already on the 27th and nothing.

Its "out" and it's random. They simply don't send it to everyone immediately. I hate to say this, but you just need to be patient.

It will come.

Guys, I don't think your location matters. On the Droid 2.2 rollout, one co-worker got the update and it took another almost a week to get it. We are all here in the exact same place.

When 2.1 was released I received it on my Eris around 11pm on a Friday night. I switched to the Incredible specifically for 2.2. My Incredible on 2.1 blows the Eris away. I can't wait till Froyo hits. It's gonna be sick!!!

Please tell me what guide you used? Im super-noob but do want to do it.

thx

here's the thread i followed to a T over on XDA. my inc was completely stock before doing this. no problems at all as long as you follow these instructions. beware that it will completely wipe your phone, so do all the backups you need to prior to following these instructions.

How to get Clockwork recovery, busybox, & root on 8/26 leaked RUU 3.21.605.1 - xda-developers

afterward you will have the official os installed with root access and super user permissions. you will also have clockworkmod recovery which allows you make nandroid backups and save them to your sd card.

nandroid backups are like cloning the hard drive on your computer. you can make an exact copy of the current state of your phone for safe keeping. comes in very handy if you get into tinkering later down the line. basically do all the above first, then get your phone setup the exact way you want it to be, then do a nandroid backup. after that if you feel like loading custom roms/kernels and experimenting you can do so without fear of not being able to revert back to how your phone was previously.

obviously, being rooted with superuser permissions means you can do a whole bunch of other things. first thing i did was download the wireless tethering app from here which gives you 'free' wireless tethering without having to use vzw hotspot. works like a charm! :)

second thing i did was download the root explorer app from the market so i can delete or disable the bloatware in the os. it's a paid application, but very worth it since you can do everything directly from your phone. you can also perform these tasks from adb shell when your phone is connected to your computer by usb cable, but this app makes it easier because it's done directly on your phone and it's just like using a file browser. see ya city id!

haven't tried loading custom roms or kernels that allow oc'ing yet. just want to run with this setup for a while and see how it goes.

in my opinion this is the way to go on an incredible. you get as much control as your want, and you still get all the benefits of having an official os. plus you don't have to worry about not being able to root in the future. rooting is detailed and you need to take your time, but it is easy. if you give it a shot, good luck. it's worth it.

doing it city by city makes no sense. they have to spread it out (which explains what happened in your example).

Is that you secretLOVER?

Well I think the point of announces your city is to let others know that this thread is being monitored by a large area and that as of yet none of has recieved the update, instead of just letting everyone either assume that no one has received or ussume that they're just not reporting it. This way we all k
now that a vast number of users are monitoring this thread and no one has it as of yet ;)
