Angry Birds-Coming To Android This Summer

Eh, things happen, especially with software. At least by launching a beta the testing phase should go quicker that way. I can't wait for the beta myself!

I'm still enjoying it on iOS. I hope there's a way you can transfer your progress from one to the other. Probably not, though. :(

I don't want to have to start over again. Some of those were nerve rackingly hard and made me speak unmentionable words about certain nationalities in an attempt to pass the level.

Signed up as soon as i got my android phone! Hoping that they want a lot of testers, i'll be more than happy to help test it out! Missing this game so much, its an addiction!

Edit: I noticed that the frame rate is apparently poor on the hero right now. Maybe this is one of the biggest reasons for the delay, after all how many people still run a hero? On the plus side the video demo of it is running on my phone :D

I am not 100% sure but I think they mentioned on Twitter that they might consider storing user progress on their servers at some point in the future. I think it was said in response to someone asking about getting their progress on their iPhone/iPod transferred to their iPad.

Angry Birds for Android

It's due to open next week if all's good. I for one, am super excited about this. There's no guarantee that everyone who signs up will get on the test but it's a good thing it's happening cos it will hopefully mean the full game reaches us sooner rather than later.

But do we really want kiddie games that you can beat in 24 hours? As long as gameloft can bring great games to android, I am not going to be too concerned if Stickracer or Doodle Army isn't ported to android.

Yes, we do. I game when I have 5 minutes in the grocery line or at the doctors office etc. If I want to do serious gaming I use my PC or 360 or even my Wii.

WTF are you talking about? First of all, Angry birds is effing hard. Also, it's one of the BEST games to pull out when you're bored and need something to do for 5-10 minutes.

Gameloft's games are not all that fun really. None of their games sold more copies than Rovio's Angry Birds.

TLDR: YES WE WANT IT.

How do you get a beta copy of Angry Birds?

No guarantee you'll get in the beta but even if you don't they will email you when it is released on the market.

Never played, but is it really that much better than Crush the Castle?
Yeah. You do 1 thing in crush the castle. You launch a cannonball. You can't even pick the direction or power. It's all about timing. And if you mess up your timing even by a little... you're screwed.

In angry birds, you pick the direction and power before launching by pulling it back and letting it go. You get different types of birds. There's one that when you tap it a 2nd time, it splits into several small birds. The gameplay is much more varied, graphics are more attractive (crush the castle is so dull looking), and it's more polished overall.

Funny, sounds allot like Crush The Castle to me but with Birds...

I'll try it when I comes out but I'm not that bothered, never even heard of it before visiting this forum..

I was in the same boat, I didn't think anything of it until I joilbroke my wife's ipod touch, and downloaded the top 20 or so apps on the market off installous. I thought, I hear all this crazy talk about angry birds, it can't be that good. Then I played it and didn't put it down for hours.

If it comes out for Android I'll probably buy it so I don't have to figure out where in my house I left the ipod every time I want to play it.

Most of us are kiddies on here, well in mind anyways :D

angry birds has a lot more depth because there are different types of birds that do different things when you fling it. Crush the Castle is decent, but a bad attempt as a clone

People seem to get really worked up over this game. I've never heard of it until today, so I'm kinda excited to see it now! :)

Let's hope it brings the same $.99 pricepoint as the iTunes version. Palm users got the shaft with it being $1.99 (I'm a cheapass...what can I say).

On Rovio's Twitter page someone asked, "@roviomobile palm before Android? Really?! RT @androidcentral WHY DO YOU TEASE US SO! #angrybirdsonandroidasap." Rovio responded with "@XXXXXXXXX yes, but Android soon in big way."

This could be some really good news! Just wanted to share this with everyone!
