Just been notified of my update!!
I was just sitting here using my scientific calculator app and looked over to see the notification. Installing as we speak!! Finally, I get to enjoy some delicious Froyo!!
This is my third Incredible since the release back in April. Last digits of my number is 90.
I was not connected to wifi either, just normal 3g. probably about 2 bars, and about 3/4 charge.
 
My cousin who lives five minutes away from me, and received the phone on the same day (27th) just got it about ten minutes ago.

so ok, so far it seems we know this:

1.) alogcat doesn't work.
2.) there is no update.zip file as mentioned in the other thread
3.) the file SEEMS to be located on the phone under cache and a few other subfolders; HOWEVER, one cannot access this folder as it's merely "empty"
4.) even copying said folder to the SD card and viewing on the pc confirms such; it's 0 bytes and empty



now what? i'm getting impatient lol i want to install this damn thing already

I think the alogcat might only work when you first get it and havent downloaded it. It allows you to capture the link the phone goes to to download the .zip file. Once you have that link you can dl the zip, share the link and upload the zip...

I just received it as well, and it didn't ask me to download. It just told me it was in fact downloaded, and ready to install.
 
I live in BHM, AL. And i am just going to leave aLogcat on my phone running the entire night. with it charging. The phone has nothing better to do so just in case i get update tonight.

I'd say give it up and just wait or do the RUU, OR do the RUU then go back to stock and get the 2.2OTA thats what im doin. best of both world yall
 
So I'm typing this from my recently froyo updated incredible now. I honestly do not notice any discernible improvements. If anything launcher pro seems to lag more now. I was expecting a significant change in speeds. But even as I type this there is still some lag. It's only been a few minutes though so my opinion might change as I get better acclimated to it overall. Still I'm quite disappointed.
 
And just to clarify, once I receive and download/install 2.2, I should then proceed to wipe my phone storage? I'm all backed up and ready to go I just want to make sure I get the procedure correct.

everyone should go download and run alogcat NOW!!!!

so if/when your update does come, you can trace it immediately lol
 
Damn, I was cool, calm, and collected about Froyo until you all started posting you got it. I've had this phone since April 27th and all I want is the Flash!

but the file has to download from somewhere, right? And isnt that the main purpose of the app, to trace anything downloaded and give details?

i might be wrong, assuming
 
yeah i honeslty have no idea where those guys came up with the whole, URL link thing......there were NO url's in my thing whatsoever
 
That was a pretty common method for getting a direct link to OTA updates in the past, but it seems as if Verizon has wised up...
 
It sounds like a lot of people are getting the update now. I just installed the RUU and it went smoothly but I didn't realize I had so many apps and had customized so much. I'm working diligently to get back to the way it looked before. OMG I CAN PLAY ZOO WORLD ON FACEBOOK! lol :D

ok it should. I just put a filter on aLogcat app for "chrome" and downloaded google chrome from softpedia and it gave me the full URL. So we should be fine as long as everyone keeps their alogcat open all the time. haha
 
oh well sorry guys haha i tried :( i'm sure you'll all get it soon. funny enough, my friend in NJ got it today, about an hour after i got mine. i'm down in central NJ (ocean county) and he's up in colonia (middlesex county)

he got his before launch day, i just got mine july 29th....so clearly our ESN numbers are very far apart i presume....sooo yeah lol
 
Lets just hope that they are pushing it out to more people tonight. I am willing to bet I won't get mine for another couple days
 
Ahh! My wife just texted me Nd said she just recieved the update. She is on my plan and we both got the Incredible at the same time.

Where's mine? (insert sad panda face here)
