Where is my street and compass view???

Ok, yesterday I'm using my maps and search for pizza. It finds places on the maps and I select one. I went into SAT layers and saw "Street view". When I was in street view I brought up the menu and saw compass view.

Today, (12/2) I cannot duplicate that. Is there a specific order or process in which you must view things in order for these features to be used?
