LMAO...perhaps! I'm happy to report that the in-call volume on my TELUS desire improved dramatically after updating to 2.2. Night and day difference.

Yup, that's what I noticed and I'm very happy the earpiece was louder...makes it much more usable in louder environments now.

Since you did the same update to 2.2, can you check your phone model number listed in the Settings, About Phone, Phone Identity? I noticed mine is now different.

Went fairly smoothly, however I lost my APN settings (tip - note them first) and my music isn't playing now. I'm in the process of fixing that issue. Otherwise, I LOVE 2.2. Improved in-call volume, faster, new features etc. Very happy.

I think I'm going to wait for the OTA update, Telus changed the policy on defective phones, they don't exchange the phones anymore but they send the phone in for repairs and give you a loaner- a bad deal for those who rooted/modded the phones.

I caved in and flashed OpenDesire and I'm glad I did. Now I can go to websites with flash.

If you put your phone in silent mode it won't make the chime when you boot it up. That's how I got rid of it.

lol exactly what I was gonna say when reading down the thread, it won't make the sound if ya phone was on silent before you rebooted, simples
