although what you say sounds more plausible, I was told by the sales rep/customer service rep, and the telephone rep told me the same thing....

' if i order from teh store, I will have to wait until the store gets thier shipment, and that will be sent out on a specific schedule, depending on the store, the location, and the volume of the store... If i order online, I wait for production and warehouse issues... and will get it much MUCH faster...

When i was at the store, (in Kona, HI. the sale reps were pushing the Droid2, and even that had a small backorder... (two days)... as they knew the delivery had shipped and they were waiting on delivery..

So, not trying to dispute your comment, but my delivery is history and the dates speak for themselves...
 
Oh yea that's the other thing...instant rebate when ordering online..

And yea they do things differently there but I had the phone shipped to my house back on the mainland...
 
It's true if you order online you get the instant rebate. I was upgrading early and upgrading a different line than the one that was eligible. It was just easier for me to go in to the local store and have them order it for me. It will come directly to me, not to the Verizon store so there won't be any lag time there. I got a shipping notification this afternoon and a FEDEX tracking number. With the Labor Day holiday it looks like I should have my phone in hand on Wednesday. I ordered in store on Sunday 8/29.
 
Ok ordered mine in store on Sunday 8/29 and received shipping email with FEDEX tracking number this afternoon (9/5). Should have the phone in hand Wednesday with two day air shipping. At least that's what I figure with the Labor Day holiday being tomorrow.

My order was placed in-store on Sat. 8/28. Still no email/order status on verizon website. Called CS today, no new information, they say it will ship BY 9/13. REEEEEALLy hope it ships sooner, I'm going out of town for a week on 9/14, so I have to have it before then.

Really sweatin' it here. Checking my inbox every chance I get...:confused:
 
yea, if the store ordered ot for you, ONLINE, then it is the same...

the store was trying to sell the droid 2 and there were folks who ordered it thru the store and were on a 'waiting list' to pick it up from the store...

again, thats hawaii, so theyare waiting on shipments of everything...

glad you got your confirmation today.. and yea. thats still pretty good shippin considering the holiday...
 
In store you could be either having a sales rep order for in-store, aka list, or could be setting you up for e-fulfillment, which is from web warehouse
 
Hi guys, i'm new here. I found this website about a week after I ordered my Droid X hoping to find some good news about possible early deliveries.
I ordered mine on the Verizon website 08/25 with shipping being 09/09.
I received an e-mail yesterday at 9am saying my order has shipped, with the Overnight Delivery I paid extra for. I'm thinking it didn't actually ship yesterday, as it was Sunday but i'm assuming they're in stock? Anyways, i'm having to wait an extra day because I think FedEx is closed today for the holiday. I'm kinda confused on what day it might be here though... Verizon tells me it could be coming from PA or TX. I'm in CT. So, Tuesday? Wednesday? Any guesses? I'm hoping for Wednesday, i'm off the whole day so I can be here to sign. SO excited! :]

I ordered on the Verizon website on 08/25 as well. I have not received any shipping information yet. I suppose my phone will ship on 09/09 as stated on my order form. sigh....

Looked at the FEDEX website and they are indeed closed today except for custom critical type shipments. So with two day shipping mine is due on Thursday. Hope everyone gets theirs soon!

I ordered it the aug 31st with a expected shipping date of the 14th and I didn't get anything..

Nothing hacked.... I did order a case at the same time.... hopefully its not just the case. :eek: From when I've ordered in the past I got everything at the same time.
 
Okay, I just got my shipping notification. WhooHoo!. Unfortunately I won't be home until Sunday (death in family).
 
Ordered on the 31st and still no tracking number. Getting frustrated that others who've ordered after me are getting theirs before me. I'm in northern VA btw.

Hang in there, I ordered on the 31st as well. It looks like there inventory may be starting to catch up.

The shipping notice I got could very well Just be the case I ordered for my X at the same time I ordered my Phone. They might have split my order.

Add: Although package weight is 2.0 pounds.

I ordered mine first thing in the morning on 9/01/2010, and you were on the 31st? could be very close in their que. Also, our phones could be coming from different warehouses. I'm in Phoenix.

It could have been your phone dude. Lol the case I was shipped was .04 lbs. I got it from accessorygeeks.com whom I love they are just excellent with shipping and ustomer service. But the phone doesn't weight that much.
