that's correct I believe, he couldn't install it on a phone in store or something but it loaded up and appeared it would work.

In fact, from that thread:

I can confirm this does NOT work. The app doesn't even copy update.zip to my SD card. I was able to pull the zip file from unzipping the apk, however it fails signature when I do the recovery step.

That makes sense, considering the parameters needed to handshake with the hardware would not be known. Different device than what the app was designed for.

it does not work. neither does the method for the captivate and the vibrant. i am seeing if there is something that does work, but as of now, nothing yet.

Universal Androot doesn't work? I know it doesn't make much of a difference, but what about stopping TWLauncher, and then running the Universal Androot. Anyone gonna take the plunge? If it doesn't work, it doesn't work and it won't harm the phone since it will say Failed.
