New Software update-Anything New?

I have an O2 business branded unit, it updated on monday along with my colueges, but unfortunately my unit has had to be returned to O2 and since getting my new one It doenst seem to recognise theres an update even though its running 2.1 ?

Have already replied to your main message on the Desire board regarding this.

They pulled the update as it was bricking phones so sounds like that is what happened to your original phone. They have not re-released the Froyo update again yet so you will not be able to upgrade until they do.

I have an ulocked phone which i debranded from Virgin media, have checked for the update multiple times and no joy im constantly advised my phone is up to date. Have tried with and without gold card in!

Not sure why i cant see the update, other thread seems to suggest its been pulled because of these wifi issues.

I updated mine 22:00(BST) last night

I am on virgin using a completely factory unbranded phone.

Update has fixed the Peep / Friendstream OAuth Twitter issue too, making them functional again. Appreciate I'm probably the only person in the World using the HTC apps for that, but welcome nonetheless.

I checked for this new update to 2.10 yesterday and it was available for my unbranded desire. I did not download it because I was on GPRS at the time in a weak signal area. I have tried to down load it today but now the phone says there is no update available for my phone? has it been pulled?

Nope there is 2 of us :D

Tried all the others and they look really messy compared to friendstream. Infact that is the only thing holding me back from using LauncherPro. Cannot find a decent friendstream or news widget alternative that looks as good as the sense ones.

Although I managed successfully upgrade last night all this talk of the update being pulled got me worried.

So I have just called HTC to ask if it has been pulled and was told it has not and that it is being issued to batches of phones.

No update available in Belgium at the moment. What's up with the wifi problems? Anybody encountered this?

Hmm strange. I got the update yesterday afternoon (+/- 4pm). Check for updates, it should be there. No WiFi problem what so ever...

Did exactly the same as above and I now dont have the update available either???.

Did the update on my Telus debranded Desire yesterday and everything works fine except that my version of swype seems a little laggy.

Its the O2 froyo update that has been pulled, by O2.

to anyone not seeing the update, I found that I could only see it if I looked whilst wifi was off so that it connected by gprs, once I did that it saw the update and prompted me to download it, I then re-enabled wifi and downloaded it using wifi, I think it was about 25mb.

That would make a lot of sense as when I saw it I was at work on GPRS. When I got home I would have been on Wi-Fi and did not see it. When I rebooted I immediately checked for update and found it, this would have been before Wi-Fi would have had chance to connect.

It may also explain why anyone on o2 cannot see it as OTA via gprs will be controlled by your provider and as o2 have pulled 2.2 then I guess they would also pull any patches to it.

Odd, i'm not getting this update at all in the UK, i've tried using WiFi and 3G, my phone is a factory unbranded, unlocked Desire running Froyo 2.2 build 2.09.405.8, is this update being released in batches? if so, does that mean all factory unbranded, unlocked Desire's will eventually recieve this update.

Same here!

I recieved the original Froyo 2.2 on the day HTC released it aswell

Same here. Thats why I downloaded the new RUU. I then installed HTC Sync 3.0 (bloatware with Adobe AIR). I then installed the new RUU. And afterwards uninstalled HTC Sync.
I can't see anything different. There is the same space (135MB) left after a 2.2 reset. I can't see any new icons

Hmmm. Makes sense but I was already on wi-fi when I saw the update and by morning It was gone (also on wi-fi).

Also logical that O2 might pull the patch in addition to the upgrade but would they really be offering the patch to stock unbranded handsets?

If HTC are just releasing the patch to selected handsets at a time, does this mean I've lost my window of opportunity and now need to wait until they get through their list and put it on the website for download?

I don't mind waiting usually but to know I had the opportunity and then it has been taken away drives me bonkers! Guess I'll just keep checking.

+1

I've not had the update either on an unbranded/unlocked phone using Orange :(.

Have done the update check multiple times, but naddah...
