Help How do we reboot into recovery mode?

It may be already stated in one of the previous threads, but I was curious as to which button combination do we hold in order to send the Fascinate into recovery mode?
Thanks in advance!

I have nothing new to add, just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone knows how to yet.

Haven't found it, but I have put it into recovery mode with adb. I have tried different button combinations, but nothing yet.

I did a search and saw this for formatting the Fascinate.
  1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Fascinate is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  2. Hold the Volume Down button
  3. Press and release the Power button
  4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  6. Press and release the Power button
  7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
  8. If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Samsung Fascinate. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

I tried this. After doing step 2 & 3, it just got stuck with "Downloading. Do not turn off target."

I'D ADVISE YOU TO NOT DO THIS. IT DOESN'T HURT YOUR PHONE BUT TO GET OUT OF IT YOU MUST REMOVE AND REINSERT THE BATTERY.

Maybe it's also just me because I've done the lag fix and I'm rooted. Maybe it works only on unrooted phones? If someone wants to try?

Even when I wasn't rooted all I got was the "Downloading. Do not turn off target." - and yes, you have to do a battery pull to get it back off, its annoying.

Has anyone tried just using QuickBoot's Recovery thing? I would myself...but I don't actually know how it works and I'm scared :D

Why are you trying to get into recovery, btw? If you're just trying to remove bloatware stuff, you should be able to do it without being in recovery.

I was just curious as I was just experimenting. I'm coming from a droid one and an eris which I was able to root and customize each and I am never satisfied with stock but the one click lag fix isn't working for me.
Thanks for all the input this far though I appreciate all and any input.

We need access with buttons so we can eventually have nandroid and clockwork.
This is what I was thinking as well. And although I finally went ahead and rooted the thing tonight anyways, this would still just be helpful to know just from a security blanket standpoint.

I downloaded an app that toggled the brightness of the screen. it went to 0% and now the screen is stuck off. all i can think is to wipe but all i get is that downloading screen. Any ideas?

to get into recovery on the Fascinate you need to hold BOTH the VOl Up and VOl Down while you power it up.

I tried that before but it didn't work, but I think I did it too soon after shutdown.

Hold Down Volume + & -, then hold down the Power Button. Hold them all down for about 4-5 Seconds after the SAMSUNG screen shows. Then you will be in Recovery.
To control, use the Volume + & -
Press the Home Key for your selection
Menu Key goes back to the "!" Screen and vise versa.
