Root Brand New Froyo 2.3.13

Quick question: if this really is a new Kernal, then installing via a nandroid backup won't transfer the new kernal, right? Isn't that the whole point of the locked bootloader - that we can't get new kernals on the device?

EDIT: And if it's not a new kernal, am I just deciding on whether I think Moto or Birdman is going to make a better ROM?

Its the a nandroid backup of the new leaked 2.3.13 rooted..for those ppl who dont know how to root or dont wanna take the time to do it.

Get froyo set up how you want, uninstall apps you don't want to be included..like ones you bought..
Then when you boot to recovery, hit wipe data, then proceed to make your nandroid.
Test your nandroid. If it boots to initial set up your good.

OK I'll get on it in the morning

I know. I'm looking for a method that is similar to the way the first "leaked" 2.2 was installed. Didn't need any bootstrap or anything like that.

Will a version like that be released?
Judging by the non-responses, that must be a no at least for the meantime. I dont twitter but perhaps you can send a quick message to p3droid asking so?

Have you tried your link? All I get is a 49k file with a backup folder name that says it corrupt

I was wondering the samething. So using the nandroid, it can be loaded from leaked 2.2??

Either p3droids method or the nandroid you have to be on 2.2 already

for the nandroid, do you just go to ROM manager to restore it or go to bootstrap? sorry i never did a nandroid back up before or restored one before..

The only time you need bootstrap is to press bootstrap recovery, everything else can be done through rom manager, or by booting onto recovery and doing it manually

I understand that.. so I don't have to be on the new froyo to do this?? (Nandroid method) I sbf'd because I couldn't root 2.2 from the new froyo. It kept saying too many symbols when I would try to push to system. So im on a clean 2.2.

With the nandroid.. I just load up system??

did you install this?
No waiting for flyX v1.0 cause I had too much work yesterday

Yes. You should keep all your data that way
