Is T-Mobile USA getting its version of the Evo?

My AT&T contract is up and I really want the Evo but I don't really want Sprint.

I'm curious as to whether or not T-Mobile USA is planning its own version of the Evo, because it seems as though the recently announced phones (i.e. G2) have low quality specs in comparison to big phones on the market such as the Evo and iPhone 4.

Yeah G2 does suck, however they "should" be getting a new phone in the next 1-2 months. Its supposedly dual-core phone but nobody knows if its true or not. Phone however is better then EVO as test scores leaked into public showed it to be 2xEVO.

One thing though, despite tmo marketing spin, HSPA+ is not and does not reach 4G speeds. Even ATT agrees with this and they have HSPA+ as well.

Do Snapdragon processor used in the Evo is the slowest 1ghz processor on the market

Graphics on the Evo are horrible.

The evo does not use Gorilla Glass

The Evo display is nowhere near the quality of Super Amoled.

The Galaxy S Phones have the fastest CPU and GPU available on any current Android smartphone.

The Super Amoled display offers the best contrast ratio and amazing graphics.

The galaxy s uses gorilla glass.

What makes you want the Evo, is it the 4.3 vs 4 inch screen?

Just taken 30 seconds ago with Clear USB Modem. Those "reputable reviews" are the same people who bash Sprint every chance they get, and have done so for the last oh 10 years or so, so no, they aren't very reputable at all, now are they?

I already did my own research and my own internal testing.
Putting a Vibrant, Epic 4G and EVO 4G next to eachother already showed me that the Vibrant is just as fast as the 4G phones. When HSPA+ devices are released, Sprint wimax wis going to suck even more than it sucks now.

To be honest bro, he does have a point with QoS, degradation, latency, etc etc. Not many phones on T-Mobile currently take advantage of the HSPA+ network, so it's nowhere near capacity. When more phones come into play, and more users have those phones, only then will we see. Though, from a technical standpoint, I do see how 4G will be the same if not possibly slightly slower than T-Mo's HSPA+.

Howetechnical he has no valid point, his points will not apply to T-Mobile in a massive way, because the hspa+ bandwith is already being used by non-hspa devices. With no hick-ups.

Actually, every 3G phone in T-Mobiles current lineup, is capable of taking advantage of the HSPA+ network. This is why you get 6-7 Mbps on your Vibrant. So regardless, doesn't matter if the device is true HSPA+ or not, the bandwith is being used by millions of people, including yourself. If you go into a non hspa+ area, expect your vibrant to get slower speeds, you ARE using the HSPA+ network, just not to the full extent of its power.

If your argument is that when true HSPA+ comes out, and the 7-12bmps actual vs theoretical 21mbps people will be using will break the bank, I highly doubt it. Especially with millions of people already using the HSPA+ network on NON hspa+ phones, with no dent in their network.

HSPA+ is faster than wimax, and always will be. It will even get faster when t-mobile turns on 41+mbps.

However, in my opinion the 4.3 craze is nothing more than a fad that will disappear. Everyone will be laughing at DroidX users in 2 yrs, with their ugly hump and brick of a looking phone.

If they can squeeze 4.3 inches into Vibrants form factor, then that would be awesome, however the current 4.3 inch phones... Evo, HD2 on t-mo, and DroidX are ugly bricks, especially the Droidx.

For you maybe but not for me. I love the slate brick form factor minus all the curves. I'm 6 foot 4 with large hands and my HD2 fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. T-Mobile has catered to everyone else, I just don't see why they won't have a 4.3 inch android offering.

well tmo has a 4.3 inch phone, but yes they need a 4.3inch android device.

Personally, I believe they could have easily squeezed in 4.3 inches into the Vibrant, and kept the same exact form factor. I would have totally loved a 4.3 inch vibrant with the same form factor. Lets rally, maybe Vibrant version 2 will be 4.3 inches!

I got this in May, Nokia N900 (phone, not modem/router), Baltimore/DC corridor, on T-Mo's $10/mo. "web2go" data plan:

For me, 7Mbs and unlimited data, for $10/mo. "total", regardless of how much speeds fluctuate, trumps any other carrier's offering right now...especially given that I can tether with native apps, without having to hack/jailbreak/root.
