Hi I really need help. my phone wasnt working normally so i went into recovery mode and wipe user data. when the phone rebooted a lot of messages with force closes keep coming. i cant open most google apps. i was rooted and then i unrooted and it didnt help so i rooted back.
 
I had this same exact thing happen and u have to keep closing those force errors and get into settings and go to applications and do the factory reset there. It took forever to do since all the errors Kept poppingnup. I am sure someone has an easier way though

How did you get in to recovery mode? Same way, when you get recovery mode, you can select "FACTORY DEFAULT" and then everything should be fixed for you.

Power phone off.

Hold: Home Button + Power Button + Vol up button.

When the phone powers on, let go of the power button.

And keep holding the rest of the buttons till you get in recovery mode.

Let go of all the buttons when you see you're entering recovery mode.


Use the Vol Up / Vol Down keys to navigate, and press the power button to select.

Only Samsung truly knows.

My phone somehow bricked itself after applying lag fix and root a few days after use.

Which is why I stay away from that stuff now.

oh man that sucks. i applied the lag fix from the market and rooted like two days ago.

I would stay away from lag fix root stuff.. I heard it can cause a lot of problems eventually it just crashes itself.

So theres my 2 cents. Just personal belief from personal experience and people who all experienced the same thing.

After factory reset, your phone gets unrooted - un lag fixed.

So you are good now.
 
Heres a couple of quotes Ive read around...

It's ext2 guys, seriously, there's no journal for ext2. Yes, it's fast, but it's going to fail. There's a reason nobody uses ext2 anymore, unless it's for caching things, since cache is expendable data.

Don't do that lagfix. It's ext2, and it will become corrupt in a matter of days.

I ran an ext4 lagfix for a while, worked great. I undid it a few days ago though, anticipating that the froyo update will break it

It creates a large file (1+gb), mounts it as an ext2 filesystem, then copies a few directories to it, and makes symlinks to the new (faux) filesystem. In other words, if this filesystem goes poof, so does all of your apps.

i'm still rooted, but i won't apply the lagfix anyway
