Hi all

So my phone has just updated to 2.10.405.2 and nearly given me a heart attack as i thought it was bricked. but apart from the mic on the keyboard, what else has changed? cant see anything different. With so many still waiting for 2.2, whats with the update to it?

Froyo gives the phone a bit of a speed boost & also incorporates the app2sd, this helps solve the memory shortage providing apps are coded for it.

Gmail is fixed, now supports mutiple accounts again..
There is a voice to text icon in the keyboard...
Supposed to be a little faster?...
Thats all i know so far.

edit.. No vibrate on shutdown now.

It's completely wrecked my Facebook.

I now can't login, it errors with either (on the app) a login failure or it refuses to update once logged in = 'An error occured while fetching data [null], or via the web it states you're attempting to login with a restriced ip and refuses access.

Tried clearing the cache, deleting the data, restarting the phone / app etc etc .

Just installed it manually tonight, phone def seems faster since the update, other people have said it has also improved there battery life - i hope it does!

Its screwed my friendstream also, if I press the update icon button it hangs on 'updating'. It also only shows facebook updates, no twitter etc.

Ok well it seems posting on here really can help, I just finished posting this after it being the same all day ... now it works :D

My phone is in the middle of downloading this update (I think)

EDIT: Ok so the update has downloaded and installed, my friendstream still works perfectly fine, though I did have an issue with my Youtube account (which may or may not be related to the fact i've not linked my Youtube username to my gmail). Everything else seems much the same

no issues that have noticed either. :)

New update has totally messed up my phone completely (have started a thread about it). It keeps randomly reboots! Maybe that's why they've pulled it?

I read on a thread somewhere it was pulled? I'm currently in the process of going back to 2.1 (1.21.405.2) then updating to 2.2 (2.09.405.8)

Personally I have found that the update is giving me a more stable cell signal. Before it used to be all over the place.

It has also improved my battery usage, I'm getting a couple of hour extra...

I concur about the battery life, its definately a little improved since updating.. enough to notice a difference in real daily usage aswell

Havnt noticed any signal improvement though yet, seems roughly the same as before here on the 3 network... but didnt really have any problems with the old 2.2 version.

I had the same problem after updating earlier.

I solved it by updating the facebook app to the latest version 1.3.2

My 3 unbranded Desire only prompted for this update this morning. I haven't noticed it affect any of the way I use my phone and will keep an eye on the battery life.
