Update was not available issue

Is this an issue or not? Please answer the poll so we can get some numbers.

When I first got the Droid X if I went into Settings / About phone / System update I would get the response "System is up to date". For the past month I get the response "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."

Do you have the setting to sync social apolications over wifi only turned on? I kept getting that error when I had that option selected. changed the setting back, rebooted and worked fine to get the .604 update

LOL. Well I've searched off and on for how to fix this. I've heard of others having the problem too. Your fix worked! Thanks!!! Well at least I know I'm ready for Froyo if Moto/Verizon will push it out. Thanks again!

LOL!!! Yup, definitely an issue.............with your data connection.

Disable the following: Settings / Data Manager / Data Delivery / Social Applications / Sync Over WiFi only
It is quite possible that in addition to this, you will need to remove the battery and SD card, reinstall them, and turn on the phone.
It should work fine after this.

I had tried to update Android 2.2 for last two weeks
but always got this message "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later"

So I followed the above instruction and then it starts work !!
IT took 8 minutes with WiFi.
