DI06 update due 9-22

Installed the update yesterday. Did it manually - never saw a notification like the original notice said we would. I've got one of the "good" Moments-only locks up on wifi-3g swap. I turned on wifi over 1hr ago and started walking in and out of my work's wifi range. I'm back in my office and out of range again (had to charge) and typing this on the Moment-so far so good. I sent texts, took calls, browsed the net, browsed the market, installed SwiftKey (It's starting to piss me off by the way) and no lockup yet.

I got the push yesterday but it failed to load. I'm running the latest radioactive rom... I wasn't having any problems anyway. :p

When I initially did the manual firmware update it just changed the baseband version to DI06 but the build number stayed the same (DE03). This morning I received a notification of a software update and after doing that update I noticed the build number changed to DI06. I'm just hoping this update doesn't mess up my previously problem-free phone.

I woke up to the message this morning about it, ignored it and it came right back a few minutes later. So doing the download. I'm running Radioactive Froyo 1.8.7.

*edit phone has rebooted with no issues*

I got the same thing myself last night. Running it took about three minutes.

I manually did the first update about three days ago. Is this just a completion of that process, or are these additional fixes?

Just a caution if you have visually impaired friends using this phone. I updated, got the notification, clicked more info, and then clicked okay. Now, I can't check the accessibility option, there is no option to chek TalkBack, SoundBack, or KickBack. And I cannot reinstall them from the market. The phone is basicly useless to me right now. I'm gonna contact sprint and see what can be done.

I'm still up and running with no lockup, which is confuzzling, but I'm still on build DE03 too, which I didn't even notice until I manually updated The Wife's phone last night then got the update notice on her phone this morning. Now she's DI06 and I'm not. Where's my update?

Checking around the web it seems this will do nothing for the CDMA data lock up issues. According to sprint this will come in another update in Q4.

Samsung Moment:Maintenance release planned for Moment-...

Aaaand there it is. Just got the data lockup while in the middle of a route using navigation. First GPS goes, then data - or maybe they both died at the same time; hard to tell. Anyway, turning off the weefee's again. *sigh*

I'm really glad samsung is working on these issues and releasing fixes. Looking forward to the next one. After that the moment will be a fully functional phone!

DI06 update message appeared last night. Clicked on More info and somehow lost the update opportunity. Tried to do it manually using Settings > About phone > System updates > Update firmware. Just as the phone booted up after the 30 second download update, the DI06 update message appeared again. This time it downloaded for a couple of minutes, displayed Samsung for several minutes (got me anxious), then the Home, Menu, Back keys lit up and the device boot completed.

Baseband version and Build number at DI06. An update without data wipe-out is welcome.

Gotta love this phone.....I haven't had any air plane issues pretty much since I went to Radioactive Froyo, what do I wake up to this morning... No Service and Air Plane Mode was on and wouldn't turn off. GREAT JOB SAMSUNG!!!

I tried Radioactive 1.8.22 I think and it wasn't that great on my phone at all. I just loaded ti-x and I love it. Very smooth and fast. I'm passing on the ext2 this time though because it feels like it loads some demons after a few weeks no matter how careful you are. The performance gain is great but I don't think it's ready for prime time yet.

Maybe I got a bad flash or something on froyo but there are several better roms out there that I've tried, at least on my phone...

The update was waiting for me when I got up this morning. So there's my restart. Almost 48 hours with no lockup after using wifi with I guess a "partial" update to DI06. I'll be trying wifi again tomorrow at work. I'm not rooted, by the way.

Yeah, my update was also waiting for me on yesterday morning, however, my notification bar disappeared after installing it. I use GDE as a replacement home and it has vanished! Anyone with a clue as to what could have happened or how I can get it back?

Thanks.

I downloaded the update yesterday (Sat. 9/25/10) while walking to work. Took about 5 minutes.

Everything seemed to be just fine until the end of the day and I was unable to get the phone to pair with my car's built in hands free bluetooth. In the past, the connection has worked nearly flawlessly, I would occaisionally have to re-pair the phone & car if I had rebooted the phone, but that usually took about 1 minute or less.

As of last night, the phone no longer sees the car's bluetooth device, even after multiple scans, so I have no way of paring them.

Anyone else have this issue? (or similar?)

Welll, I'm thankful to say that my problem got solved. Tec support and my cousin helped me to wipe my phone, which restored my accessibility features. However, it showed up in the market as an installed ap this time, which made it so that if I updated, I could just uninstall the updates, to the screen-reader that is. I do in fact really like the improvements, so I'm kinda glad this all happened.

Started the update while in the movie theater watching previews, it is now 3.5 hours later, and it still has not restarted. I have a black screen with the samsung logo and at the top it says "ARM9 FOTA Updating..."

Well, after 4 hours, even though I plugged it in over an hour ago, the battery died and the phone shut off (figured this out afterwards) when I unplugged it, then plugged it back in, out showed the powered off but charging screen. So I powered it on, and it displayed some kind of updating screen with arrows pointing both ways, then it rebooted and showed the new firmware version DI 06.

Who knows what happened, but it worked, no brick. Afterwards my wife admitted it ran another update not an hour before and it seemed to work fine on the first one. Only taking about 3 minutes.

when i tried the update, the phone froze just like yours, on the boot screen. i let it sit like that for bout 10 minutes, and then decided to pull the battery. after i put the battery back in, it finished downloading and installing and no real problems since then (cept a few random reboots, i'm running radioactive froyo 1.8.22)

Mine sat on the boot screen for quite sometime. I just left it alone and it updated fine.

Interestingly my phone updated even though I had disconnected it from my line. So it updated via wifi alone.
