When Android 2.2 will be available for Milestone?!

It will be available first quarter 2011. I'm glad for the delay, I don't want not buggy garbage! I'm really not in any rush either as my phone works flawlessly now after the 3.11 update! Yeeeehawwwww! I'm selling so many Milestones it's crazy! They are now saying they are in high demand and that the have become back ordered! I'm also so glad my phone don't come with Moto Blur!
 
Pfft, you'll be waiting long past Q1 2011. It will be made available from MOTO Q1. From Telus, probably the day after the world ends. :rolleyes:

You should seriously just use Cyanogen. It beats the shit out of official Froyo anyways with all the mods included.

Indeed, dock & car app for instance are official google ones, much better than moto stock ones.

less problems than ever, smooth & pretty quick without overclocking...

worth a try, definitely ! and you also would have solved the backup question, too, that one day would rise (lost phone, stolen, broken...) :D
 
If you haven't used Cyanogen, or the Official Version, you really don't know which is better.

But I guess ignorance is bliss sometimes.
 
when someone installs Cyanogen, the phones starts from scratch right?

There isnt a version to just continue using the phone as before?
 
So,the official android 2.2 for motorola milestone hasn't came out yet?

In settings it says,that I have an update to OS.

Im not sure if I want to upgrade it to unofficial OS.

lol I think he ment official which is what I'm waiting for... let all you work out the bugs... I don't care to switch now anyway myt phone works flawless right now anway so meh ... so many people are never happy no matter what
 
No, he said that because the Milestone bootloader is locked, that Cyanogen cannot be Froyo 2.2, which means he's wrong.

That's why he said cannot be a 2.2 ROM, not 2.2 OS. There was no mention of official anything in his post.


And by all means, wait away. Q1 is still a looooong ways off. ;)
 
I can't actually decide what to do:
-upgrade to 2.2 froyo,right now
-wait for the official one

Will all the apps and everything I have installed on my phone delete when I'll upgrade? Do I have to unroot my phone to upgrade? I have also heard of some awful bugs on 2.2.
Will the official 2.2 for milestone be better?
 
I'm actually divided now. At first I didn't like the udpate, then I got to like it but further investigation I'm not liking it again lol. The battery life suffers and the few apps I use are erroring... maybe the real update will fix that issue. I hardly use my phone and I was getting a day and a half out of battery life. Now I can barely get a day.
