5 things I'd like to see on Android

I was under the impression that Android has a maximum officially supported resolution. I know that Gingerbread officially supports 1280 x 760, but I don't know what Froyo has.

With the iPhone there is only one type to design for. With android there are phones with/without keyboards, trackballs, processing capabilities, ect....
The apps on the iPhone quality wise will always be better because there aren't as much variations to program for. As for the updates, there are variations from devices with sense, motoblur, and touchwiz

Android should become more like Windows.

It should be able to detect and recognize the different hardware configurations and adjust itself accordingly. This way, you hit two birds with one stone.

- No more fragmentation.

- No more differences in the UI.

All the manufacturer has to do is make the hardware and provide the hardware drivers to Google. Simple as that. Everything will be so much easier.

I agree 100%.

It's straight up ridiculous how Google is about to release gingerbread pretty soon and there's new phones coming out with android 1.5

This is like going to buy a pc and it's loaded with windows 98.

All phones from here on out should at least run android 2.0

Everything else I have no problems with.
 
The ranking system should take care of quality assurance for apps. The world is full of brave beta testers and I only get the four star or five star apps. And if an app fries a bunch of phones and people give it bad reviews, I avoid it.

If it fries phones, Google themselves would take it down.
