Help apps for android

Thanks for the heads up on Quick Settings. Just installed it. GREAT!! Now I can delete a # of smaller widgets as QS has them all in one place!

Round 2

Games:
Project INF (free)- multiplayer 2D shooter! Surprisingly fun.
Jewels (free)- A free knockoff of Bejeweled.
Phit Droid (free)- Geometric Puzzles. Not bad.
GeoQuiz - kinda like a Geographic Jeopardy.

Tools:
Countdown Alarm (free)- I am BLOWN AWAY that this it not default in the phone.
Scan2PDF (about $6)- Turns your phone's camera into a PDF scanner. I know that you could just take a normal pic, but for professional needs, this does the trick... kinda... because it does not utilize the flash, and will not utilize it until we get the 2.0 or 2.1 upgrade. But in the mean time it has saved my ass, I just had to make sure that I had good light.
Locale (free)- Better than Timeriffic because it can be programmed with geographic specific triggers. But it's also slightly troublesome b/c of the Moment's current GPS shortfalls.

Others:
Cherry Rplayer or StreamFurry (both free)- Two of the best online streaming radio apps while awaiting the release of iheartradio for android.
Shop Savvy (free)- THIS THING IS AWESOME! Pkt auctions is great for eBay, but ShopSavvy is great for everything else! ESPECIALLY if you are buying textbooks. Just go to you bookstore, scan the barcode, and this thing checks all the main online book sellers.
ShakeIt (beta) (free)- Shake your phone awake, and/or flip your phone screen down to activate speakerphone. Still a few issues but the developer is extremely active and responsive.

Does this work very well? I didn't get it because it seemed pointless from the reviews.

It's really nice for adding movies to your queue when you are away from a computer. I see movies i want to netflix all the time and end up forgetting them. This helps curb that.

Shazam is super nice for songs you want to get later too.

Doom - classic doom emulator with downloads

Who made the one you have? Mine wouldn't work with the optical pad :(

Games:
Themes:
Beautiful Widgets and Open Home (both for purchase)
I like the clock that comes with Beautiful Widgets. It makes it easy to set alarms, and the weather display, with 1-touch 3-day weather is nice too.
So far I have found a couple themes that I like, but I hate the side-sliders. I can't figure out for to get rid of them.

Sorry to sound nooby, but how much is Open Home? I can't find the app in the market, only skins. >.<" A link maybe so I can visit this page on my Moment and go buy/ d.l it? Thanks in advance.

It's a real PITA to find when you're looking for it, I just had to do the search and keep scolling slowly. I feel like the app store could have a more comprehensive advanced search... would make finding things like this much easier.

I am on my second go-around with open home. The first time, I seemed to have problems and dumped it. But I gave it a second chance and love it. Love the app tray and the search function.

For those that like flashlight apps, and want the led to be the light. You can download the momentflash app from the market. It is much better than the screen light apps.

abcOrganizer lite - This is the free version. It shows me all my apps (some widgets too) in a list. I can label them to look up by category or folder and also have the folder as a shortcut to the home page. From the list you can also choose your own icons for the folders, launch and uninstall. It also has a list for bookmarks and contacts.

Any Cut - Another program that let's you create shortcuts for the home page. I use this mainly for speed dialing / speed texting to my most used contacts.

AsciiCamera - Camera app that allows you to take a picture in ascii style. It's just a novelty thing and has that nostalgia thing going.

Battery Left - Widget. I can't find this in the Market anymore for some reason. At any rate, it gives you the actual time you have left on your phone in hours/minutes, not just the percentage. And it works perfect. Takes a few days to calibrate an accurate time. Comes in two different sizes.

chompSMS - Breaks your text messages up more like a conversation with colored bubbles. Just easier to follow, more visually pleasing.

Droid 411 - Widget. Gives you a list of 4 Toll Free 411 directories to call. You click the one you want and it automatically calls them.

FlashNotify Settings - Basically you can set up your phone to flash the home screen when you've missed a call, text, etc. Many settings.

FoxyRing - Widget. Calibrates the ambient noise around you and then controls how loudly your phone rings.

HeroLock - I use PandaHome and I installed the Hero Lock screen. There's also an I phone one. You can pick your own picture.

Instant Search for Google - Widget. Fast google search. You don't wait for a page to be downloaded. Works for web, phonebook, video, news, blogs...

K-9 Mail - I have all my gmail, yahoo and ymail set up on this program.

Launcher Dock - Widget. Love! This uses 1 icon on your homescreen that holds up to 8 seperate apps. So press the icon and a pop up screen appears with the 8 apps. Saves a ton of space. You can change the icons.

Notification Notes - Puts a note in my notification status bar. Easy to use and perfect for a person like me.

OneWeekCalendar
- Widget. Shows the current week and one week only. If you have an event on that date on your normal calendar it shows as a mark on that date. When you hit it it takes you to your normal calendar.

OpenSearch - This is an app on your phone that can replace the big Google search bar. Press the icon and the search bar appears (it saves space). The cool thing is is once the bar appears you'll see a little icon to the right of the status bar. Touch that and you can now select to search instead of google the android market, wiki and many others that you can install from the dev's website. Love this tool. Plus, if I've already got a search going on in the market and don't want to loose my place I just hit the home key, hit the market open search, type it in and get the new results. When I'm done I hit the home key again, market app and it takes me back to the original search.

RemoteDroid - This is a trial. Set up your phone to be used as a wireless keyboard, mouse on your computer. I haven't used this yet so don't know how it works. Comments seem positive though.

Slide Keyboard by Koku - I LOVE this keyboard. It is not like Swype or Slide It (which I can't stand). It gives you 12 big keys and each key accounts for up to 5 characters. You slide your finger in the direction of the charcter you want on each key. It takes a bit to get used to but once you do it's fast. It's not for everybody but I highly recommend it, espically if you have big fingers or constantly seem to be hitting the key next to the one you intended. Be sure to download the dictionary in your language for spell check and suggestions. You can read my other post about it here with a screen shot: http://androidforums.com/android-applications/31444-slideit-android.html#post351545

Sound Manager - This lets you set up multiple schedules for the volume of ringers, notifications, etc. Many settings and easy.

SpellDial - You can start typing in a name and it starts to pull up associated contacts by spelling. Very handy.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a app that will let me see what is using my battery. I know a few have suggested a app called spareparts, but it does not have very good reviews so i have never tried that app.

I would like to see what is using what % of my battery.

thanks
