WOW Battery Life Jumped Big Time

Newbie
I don't know what happened different since I booted my phone yesterday at 7:00 am, but all of a sudden, my battery life has jumped significantly. I run the Seidio 1750.

Yesterday, I went ALL DAY with normal usage (multiple texts, calendar appt reminders, a few brief calls with both wifi and bluetooth on constantly. My k-9 mail syncs with work e-mail every minute, and gmail wireless sync is on for two accounts) and I still had 81% battery remaining when I went to bed at 10:30 last night!

I haven't shut it down yet just to see how far it will make it...

Right now, my battery usage screen shows Up Time of 31:09 with Awake time of 4:16. I'm still showing 62% remaining battery!!! :D

I'm wondering if one of the multiple automatic updates that occurred in the marketplace corrected a former battery hog (gmail maybe?)

Anyone have any insight into this incredible improvement all of a sudden? I'm almost afraid to perform my usual overnight shut down and charge in case this is just a fluke occurrence.

I'll post an update when I finally get a low battery warning to see how long she'll run on a single charge.

WOW!!!!! do me a favor and figure it out please. I have always thought i had normal batt life for this thing (not good but for the Dinc as good as were gonna get). I had to do a Batt stat wipe last weekend and came up with: 28.00 up time 4.00 Awake time but I was down to 9%

yours is unbeleivable!!!!!

so you went from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. making phone calls, sending texts using bluetooth and wi-fi and only dropped 19% battery? I don't think I could let my phone sit idle and have that happen.

OMG! Instead of packing a 1500MaH in the Seidio 1750, they accidentally packed a 3500 Mah!!

I have noticed that my battery has been lasting a lot longer over the last few days even with heavier usage than normal. It's exciting, lol.

I have noticed this as well.

Normally when I leave work my battery is in the orange. I work in a building that gets very poor, if any cell phone reception.

The past three days I have been in the green until the time I charge the phone when going to bed. I don't have specific numbers, and I certainly don't have an explanation but I am getting better battery life the past few days.

An update...

Just got my low battery warning. 10% left. Time 7:30 and awake time 37:30. The awake time is about the same as it was before, but the battery drain on standby has dramatically improved.

I don't know what changed the last few days to reduce the drain while the phone is not being used. But I'm sure enjoying the fact that I don't need to worry about the battery being low just from sitting idle.

I'm going to drain it tonight until it shuts down and recharge it while it stays powered down as I usually do. I'm really hoping that this is the new 'normal'.

:D Now I'm confused. The 37:00 is your up time and 7:30 is probably your awake time, so what was the total time the display was on?

I too have noticed MUCH better battery life over the past few days.

No idea what it could be from. A few things were updated in the market, but I have no idea if that could do anything.

I have also noticed this.

Of course when I was complaining about battery life I mistakenly left all three GPS options turned on! DOH!

But even so it does seem like battery life is improving a bit. But that could be because I am using my phone less since I got over the "new toy" factor.

How is it possible with no known updates pushed?? Maybe the orbit of the moon shifted slightly, and the gravitational force changing has increased our battery life??

Something I found that helped me was using WiFi over 3g in my house. I haven't had a mid day recharge once since and now its usually still at half by bed now. I'm in a super poor reception area so I guess not using 3g and having it constantly attempt to connect helped me tremendously...

Same here! Now if I could find a way to get a better signal without paying $200 for a network extender. I already bought one of those for my daughter that lives across the street from me. Can't use hers tho cause we are more than 50 feet apart. :(

Is there a change in your signal strength?
I haven't really been monitoring mine, but I am not posting in a different location than usual.....fwiw.

Yes, I realize that my signal strength still could have changed.

How long have you had your Seidio 1750?

I bought the 2150 and, to be perfectly honest, when I use it to stream radio and all that, the battery drains very close to the stock battery... I'm quite perturbed by that...

It's the weather!

To be honest, that may very well be the case. I know when I was having troubles with my internet the technician said something about how the warm weather really affects signals, etc. Maybe our signals have improved, I don't know. Probably far fetched but I don't know what else would explain it to be honest.

I wish I could report that I share your results, however, I have already had to plug my phone in several times today already and it is plugged in now because it was about to shut off. I too have the Seidio 1750 mAH battery. Yippie!

I don't have any stats, but after downloading several market updates the other day, my battery life has dramatically improved. Somebody made a change that helped my battery drain big time.
