WOW Battery Life Jumped Big Time

I wish I could report that I share your results, however, I have already had to plug my phone in several times today already and it is plugged in now because it was about to shut off. I too have the Seidio 1750 mAH battery. Yippie!

Several times? Geez, how much do you use your phone?

I did a factory reset the other day (twice actually due to some issues the first time) and since I have had much-improved battery life as well. One thing I did notice different is that when I turn my screen on when the phone is on wifi, its actually been using 3G and takes a second to switch back to wifi. Never did this before. Not complaining, cause it really doesn't matter, but its different.

Right now, my battery usage screen shows Up Time of 31:09 with Awake time of 4:16. I'm still showing 62% remaining battery!!! :D

An update...

Just got my low battery warning. 10% left. Time 7:30 and awake time 37:30. The awake time is about the same as it was before, but the battery drain on standby has dramatically improved.

...so in 31(4:16 awake) hours it drained 38% and in another 6 hours(3:14 awake) it drained 52% ? Did your usage dramatically change in those last hours?

I too have noticed some battery life improvements. I haven't tracked the numbers, however at the end of the day with my Seidio 1750 I would be very close to yellow with average use. Now by the end of the day I'm consuming only about half my battery life. Idle drain has definitely improved. Will test this week with 2 batteries the 1750 and then a 3500 Ebay battery.

Well, I'm a self-employed IT Engineer and it is my mobile office. I am on it constantly talking to clients and software vendors. I also receive email from 4 accounts on it but I have it set to manually download to save battery. I also use bluetooth constantly and possibly switch it with another one during the day.

As you can see, I am a HEAVY user. I can't bring myself to buy the 3600 mAH battery though. It looks like a brick with that on it.

I have the 1750 and I love this battery. When I first got it, I didn't notice a huge difference. I was letting the battery drain all the way until I would charge it. It would usually last me about a day. Then after a few weeks of usage and charging it whenever (not letting it die) I have noticed I could go 2-3 days without charging my phone. So much better now. For example over the weekend with moderate use Friday, I didn't charge it overnight and when I woke up I had 64% battery left. I used the phone with little activity (texts, phone call, email, espn scores) and was only down to about 34% that Saturday night.

Without offering any real details, I have also noticed this. Not sure what the details are but the standby drain is so small now. Wonder what changed?

I have a seidio 1750 as well... I had not been using any sort of management util and was getting 18 hours of moderate use....
Now I'm sitting on a virtuous 3.01 rom, with adrynalyne's custom kernel that allows for setcpu to do it's magic... I have profiles set up that scale back processor with screen off, battery temp, and battery levels... Further I added juice defender, with the upgrade (ultimate juice) and have tweaked out settings like data/wifi off automatically between 1:30AM and 6:00AM, etc, etc...

Time since boot 39:41, awake time 9:36

Like I said, I'm not a heavy user, i'm moderate at best... My phone has never lasted all day and into the next day... till now.

I'll take it!

I finally have some battery time relief after doing these three things on Sunday: set my screen timeout to 30 seconds, put my brightness on "automatic brightness" and turned off "keep screen on while charging".

I use the following apps pretty regularly....cardio trainer 1-2 x per day, pandora, facebook, friendstream, handcent, nfl mobile, email-check 2 accounts all day, not so many phone calls though.
My battery is the HTC 2150mAh Extended Battery.... I am not rooted.

Current Up Time is 37:34:31, Awake time is 5:29:29
Battery life left is 48%

Thats actually very impressive! 8-10hrs awake is incredible really

Currently at 14:37:06 Up Time and 2:03:38 Awake Time. With 42% left

I'm also using a 1500mah battery

I did bump charge it this morning as well. It doesn't need the bump charge to last all day, but it does give me a bit more juice.

i'm using the stock battery but I have noticed that my battery is lasting longer.

i also uninstalled my ATK, not sure if that was the reason but since I've uninstalled it, my battery has been killer.

You guys probably had one or more common apps that have been poor at resource management - i.e., keeping the phone awake when it's not needed - and that app must've been updated recently.

I felt like I had to post in this thread just to jynx my jump in battery life. Somehow, my phone is still at 73% ( no task killers used / running), and my phone is running Skyraider 3.3 w/ Stock Kernal (I could've swore I installed something else.... Guess not).

Anyways, not bragging, as I'm sure it's going to go back to its regular life tomorrow, but:

73% Left
Up Time: 19 hours 48 minutes
Awake Time: 5 hours 9 minutes

I've sent plenty of texts, facebook browsing, not so much internet today. 26% of what was used was wi-fi, so i must've been on wifi quite a bit. Idk how it lasted this long, as it died super quit yesterday (Friday now that I realize it's a new day). Idk, but knock on wood, this is the best I've ever seen it.

P.S. - 1500 Mah Battery (HTC - Black version from BidAllies on Ebay)
P.P.S. - Last charge I did do before getting this battery life was bump charged.

You guys are so lucky. I barely get 4 to 6 hours. I'm rooted with virtuous the custom kernel and juicedefender with the upgrade ultimate juice

I just rooted a couple of days ago and I thought that's what was giving me better battery life.

Right now I'm at 70% left with 14h 13m 30s since unplugged, about 25% awake time (85h, 22 awake), stock battery. running Redemptive rEVOlution 1.7 and stock kernel. I know the gmail app updated right after I rooted. Seems to be the uniting factor in all this.

I know it's asking a lot but I wish one of you could figure out what caused it (I'm not demanding you to - I'm just saying it like "I wish we knew what it was).

And just so everybody knows, i bought the two red batteries (with stand alone charger) for the EVO on Amazon. they say their 1800's it doesn't double my batt life or anything but is MUCH better. i notice a big difference. Again, not huge but enough to tell you to get them......

I think the improvement is coming from what the device is doing when it hits "sleep" mode. Consumption when I am actually using the device is about the same. So this will help a lot of people who have it sitting idly in their pocket vs those who actually regularly use the device or have long sittings with it. I was using the stock battery and unplugged at about 2Am this morning after doing a full charge with power off. When I woke up at 8:30 AM I was down to 98%. By 4:00 today I was at 17% but I had thrown down 2.5 hours of display on, trillion, browsing texting and some casual gaming throughout the day, and 2 hours of phone calls. That 17% would have easily gotten me through the rest of the day with more casual use.

Also, bump charge or charge powered off makes a HUGE difference for me. I think it equates to about 30-60 mins of actual use or hours of standby time.

Something has definately improved my battery life. Could NEVER make it til noon with out recharging and yesterday at 5PM I still had 35% left. Usage has not changed a bit. Started noticing this last week.

Yep, put me in the noticeable improvement group too. I did the factory reset and reinstalled all but ATK and Facebook. So my results may be partially due to that but I thinks there's more going on. Perhaps Google put the app developers on notice to clean up their power usage habits?
