For Those Who Have JI6 System Update Where and When?

I thought it would be interesting and useful to see where and when people are getting their JI6 system update on their Vibrants. I for one am curious where the "waves" are rolling in.

My intent with this thread is to find out who is getting the OTA JI6 update, when they are getting it and where they are located.

Please post your update questions/problems posts in a different thread.

The Twitter update from Samsung support I saw said the OTA is distributed randomly. Not promising for figuring out a pattern from reports here. :)

Well who knows? It may not be promising but it would be interesting to see how quickly members are being hit with the update though. :)
 
South new jersey ..ota was ready to install 6:30 am. Friday, oct 8,Took 15 minutes. Seems to freeze on black galaxy s screen....waited and it updated no problem...noticed swype has microphone key, media hub works but requires wifi, fonts downloaded from xda forums no longer need a reboot to apply,gps works but never noticed problem before, speed seems same, have both laucher pro and adw installed but they did not hold up the update, using tw laucher anyway....some settings overwrote like no media..no all sounds from games are back in music player, music database still errors out if u have too many artists,
 
Got it today at 3PM. Im in Vegas. Accuracy on GPS was 157 feet off from where my house was. It always works great when im driving and it is navigating for me. But finding me is another story. It isnt accurate that way.
Not good if i lose my phone or it is stolen and i use the FindmyPhone App.

EDIT** Accuracy got down to 20 feet the second time.
 
Getting update right now..Birmingham Alabama. I was actually looking at my calendar, when the Device Management symbol showed up and said connecting server. Then about 2 mins later said congrats and you have a software update ready.
 
I noticed the little gray and red arrows in the upper left of my screen around 3am, Friday morning (10-09-2010).

Surprised the updated didn't tell what was being updated.

I'm in Chicago, IL.



Yeah, Swype key has a mic now (nice!).


Not sure about GPS... it's usually been pretty accurate. Right now it is getting my street address wrong by a few doors (other times it got the correct address).



Is there any official announcement saying what the JI6 update is supposed to do?
 
I found a new samsung widget that tracks active apps. 3 new icons in menu, mic on swype. Full battery notice pulldown bar(no more button to push). Battery status indicator more accurate. I will test gps when leave work(im in the middle of a concrete building).
 
Why are people posting that they're waiting for it and the area they're in? This thread is to see who -has- received it, and their location. If it was who -hasn't-, we'd have 5000 completely useless posts.
 
I recieved the update in Los Angeles on Friday 10/8. It bricked my phone, I was at work and couldn't do anything until the evening. I flashed the stock fw with odin and as of now (on fresh stock fw) I haven't recieved the update notification again.
