Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

I have FlyX 0.1 Final with a theme on it. It's the original 2.2 leak.

Can I install this over top of the theme and FlyX or do I have to install 2.3 first?

This rom is so close to a no-blur rom I can almost taste the vanilla! The only issue I found is the same for every other low blur rom... The contact shortcuts display the wrong photo if any at all. I was really hoping this bug was gone since you didn't use blur contacts.

When I install Apex RC1 over Wannabe2 I get SU erros..titanium backup cant acquire root..same with my other root apps..any ideas?

the only good part of blur is the messaging app, this rom would be perfect with it

Some one here will have that file lying around. I don't because I deleted the system dump I had. Just start a new thread and ask around. You will have it quickly. I use Handcent btw, so much better than stock msg app.

Don't have a clue how you lost root installing a Rooted ROM. But you need to re-root. I'm guessing you didn't wipe system, data and cache. If you did wipe them and then mounted system it would have installed a clean system onto your phone. You need to re-root using the Droid 2 method.

P.S. If you are going to use the script to remove the TranQ Launcher, make sure you have a new launcher (Launcher Pro, ADW, etc) installed first. I did a rookie movie last night and did "launcher -rw" in term emulator before installing Launcher Pro and spent the next hour SBF back to stock and rooting and then flashing 2.2 leaked then installing this. Won't do that again.

hahaha, thanks for showing concern.

I still haven't loaded it yet, haven't had a moment of time to re-do it all over again.

How's everyone liking this one?

Can anyone compare it to zapX?

I'm not kidding when I say this ROM blows away all the others. My phone is flying and runs smoother and more stable than all others. Love the "script" options and the ability to install apks using the script too. Makes installing the few blur things I love back super simple (no adb push). Just to ask, does anyone have a link to all the blur apps somewhere, I saw a thread at one point in time that had all the blur apps in 1 place so you could download and install individual apks to a de-blurred ROM.

You think that's bad? I was perfectly satisfied with the new Rubix build, but I'm so bored with my phone right now I thought I'd give it a shot. When I was in recovery I remembered I hadn't backed up. So long story short I bricked it, flashed it. Battery dies. No way to charge battery to complete restore.

Then when I finally did get a battery from a buddy at a distribution center, I some how someway deleted all my back ups.

To top it all off, concession line CS is closed on Sunday so I had no way to swap ESN's.

Try photo unlocker on the market. My lpp people widget didn't show contact pics until I downloaded that.

For next time this happens to anyone else, You can just double tap the "home" key, say "open market" and then install the launcher of your choice :)

thanks for the tip but it didnt help. when making contact shortcuts the wrong pic shows up or none at all still

Unfortunately, I think this is an innate bug with the Moto contacts app. I don't know what more can be done about it until Motorola issues an update.

Hey Fab i see you found the thread over at mydroidworld as well. i was gonna PM you about it. anyways what are your thoughts about the heap size edit in the build prop?

i have had to sbf twice now trying to install this. i feel like the install is way too short. it says all the notes "the aosp experience arrives...for x installing system... and installation complete. but the install literally takes seconds. then i reboot system and it hangs on the M. x rooted with leaked 2.3.13.

I think it's good. I actually made the change in the hotfix ;)

yeah. "mount/system". not "unmount/system"

If you click it, it will change to unmount /system.

What's in the list is the command. So you have to click on mount /system to mount it, after which, the command will change to unmount /system.
