Telus and 2.2

telus webpage said OCT but does anyone know when we are getting the update?

I am waiting to install apps because I need the SD storage option!

I am having the same problem. I want it so bad and here we are in October with nothing. I need to be able to move stuff to SD.

I knew this would happen, that's why I just rooted and have been running 2.2 for a while. It will be nice to have a way to.return the phone but its been good so far. Hope it comes soon for you guys.who are not rooted.

Not sure how accurate this info is, but, I read that some one posted that the update is delayed until the middle of November. Hopefully its not going to be that long of a wait.

Telus almost always fails at delivering, they also said LG Shine Plus is expecting an upgrade this month as well, nothing so far and the Milestone is scheduled for Q1 2011- which I bet will never happen because of the Milestone 2. They were slow on pushing Blackberry OS 5 last year as well.

I am still waiting. Decided to call Telus today. Guy said he had no idea. Utter garbage. What I don't get is having phone companies with employees who don't know anything. Granted it's probably not their fault but I need to rant.

I am almost at rooting, I didn't want to but I might just to get 2.2. I know I am going to have to do it for sure with 3.0. Unfortunately HTC said that rooting the phone voids the warranty and I am not ready to do that.

Let me know if you guys hear anything else.

Total garbage. Would really suck if it was delayed till mid nov. I'm close to rooting.

I want to root, but not till after the update since I don't want to unroot again to get the OTA.

The biggest thing about Gingerbread is the video chat and the Desire doesn't have a front cam so I'm not as concerned about Gingerbread as getting Froyo...

I am not rooted and am running 2.2 on my Desire for two months now, so no you do not have to root to get Froyo!!! My Phone is from Telus also!!!

Does it mean it's not revoking the warranty to upgrade this way?

I would not know since I am on the AT&T network and not in Canada!!! A warranty is the least of my worries, never had a phone go bad on me ever, "Knock on WOOD"!!!!:D

Thanks for your replies. Guess I'll wait for another few days, then will probably go with this RUU update way. I am still hesitate coz I'm still totally new to Android and all these hacking stuffs.
