Froyo for the original MyTouch 3G? What about us Slide users???

well...there is already froyo with the espresso UI...it is being launched on the new mytouch. so, i think if we do get the update this year it will be after the new mytouch has launched IMHO. maybe a nice Christmas gift if we are really lucky, but as i've said all along i won't hold my breath.

I can't even view YouTube's full page like I use to with 2.1
ADWlauncher always disappears.
Tab button does weird things.
Phone always freezes.
Pictures are crappy with the CM6
Doesn't even detect my number. No 3G only "h"
 
that's what TMO rep told me at the weekend. MTS will get froyo around the time the new mytouchHD/mytouch4G (whatever the final name) launches. as another person mentioned, both have expresso and since the new mytouch will launch with 2.2 then TMO will have tweaked as necessary for expresso and will then pass along that update to MTS users too. I heard November.

I call bull***t.

The MotoCharm has motoblur running on Eclair yet the Cliq and Cliq XT are still on 1.5.
 
probably a moot point for me now. Dropped it while jogging today. Landed face down and broke the screen - multiple fractures. Argh! Not sure whether to replace the screen or cut my losses and get the mytouch4G when it launches. I hadn't counted on only having the MTS for 6 months.

Still, it's working including Swype in spite of the cracks. If froyo is coming before the end of the year and I can get the screen replaced for $50 perhaps I should hang onto it. I've actually been really happy with the MTS except for the battery life.
 
try turning off the sync features you dont use, especially the weather, heard that helps ALOT. Can't really vouch for it my self seeing as I just got mine from having a bunch of busted MT3Gs.
 
Deep? It's bearly the 3rd day of the 2nd week...

Give it a few, if original MyTouch users get it after what, a year, I'm sure we'll get it too...

I'd give it a couple more weeks. Let all the new 4Gs settle in, get the system calmed down. If the original 3Gs are just starting to get it, they'll probably wait a couple more weeks to announce this update. They don't need to overload the system and have everyone updating at once. It'll happen eventually.
