EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

Can anyone tell me what happens if your sponsor leaves sprint? I have been waiting for the Evo and now that its almost available I have found out my friend is leaving sprint in the next few months. Once he leaves do I have to sign a 2yr contract? If I don't sign a contract is there an ETF?

This document is kind of dated (I think), but it does point to the fact that you can transfer a SWAC account to another Sprint employee if your original sponsor leaves Sprint:

https://www.sprint.com/webconversionform/Separating_EPP_Plan_All_Options.pdf

My experience:

1. Can a regular acct change into a SWAC acct? YES.
I had a regular Sprint account and it was changed to a SWAC account. It IS ok for existing Sprint accts to be SWAC. My understanding was that existing accts could NOT be SERO, but SWAC is ok to transfer.

2. What happens after your sponsor leaves Sprint?
Exactly as the previous poster said - they send you an email with those choices and you call to convert your acct to your choice. Otherwise they will cancel it on the final separation date of the employee, at the end of any severance. My employee had over 20 years experience, so her severance was 40 weeks after she got laid off. A month before that was up, I found another employee to take me on SWAC so I transferred to that.

I concur. I had a Sprint account for several years before I met my wife. When we became engaged, she converted my account into a SWAC account. I don't recall all of the details of the process but I was given a new account number, starting receiving the more steeply discounted monthly service, and retained my existing plan.

From what I understand, Sprint allows SWAC members to keep their discounted plans until their employee sponsor's employment ends. If the sponsor qualifies for severance benefits, then SWAC plans continue through the end of those benefits, at which time Sprint offers the aforementioned options to convert your plan.

The truth on xfering to swac and no sponser!!!!
1.Swac member with no Sponsor is screwed, have to buy evo on craigslist/ebay, etc. You can however if lucky enough to find one is; find an employee who is willing to add you his swac. Here is the catch, that employee is responsible for your account so if you fail to pay the bill he has too. So thats what i mean by good luck on finding an employee willing to do that for a stranger.
2. You can no longer xfer normal/sero/corp accounts to swac anymore. So no conversion. The only exception, which these went into effect back in april 2010. A normal account/sero can convert to a swac only within 60 days of employment. So you have to find someone who is within 60 days of their hire date and convince them to be responsible for you. Again, employees can only request conversions within their first 60 days of employment. Otherwise there are no convetsions any longer. If you are swac without a sponsor, you cannot convert to your name and stay a swac, but you can convert to your name and become Sero(aka Referral Plus). Hope that answers the questions.

Newest update on evo release for employed/swac. Was announced today that will release it in November. They said they will give us an update within 2 more weeks on an exact date in Nov. This is official and announced today.

If this is true it proves Farcus is the liar we knew him to be... Also didnt they just send out a notice in September stating late October???
The least they could do is start taking some freakin orders and provide the release date within two weeks! Damn you sprint!

Ugh! This is disheartening news. As I said previously, my phone is steadily falling apart and I was really hoping that this was to be the week that we'd all receive some good news. I'm not sure what else to do except keep my current phone close to a charger: it loses its power faster than a penguin loses altitude.

At least my phone works. My wife's Blackberry Pearl completed crapped out on Friday. For the past two weeks, the 3G radio had been automatically shutting itself off. She wasn't able to receive calls most of the time and, if a call came through before the radio turned off, she'd almost always be disconnected before completing the call.

Neither my wife nor I want to purchase a phone before the EVO is made available to us. This never-ending wait is driving both of us nuts!

Thanks for the update, Sprint helper, even if most of us will perceive the news as being bad.

for your wife.... because her phone dont work...a suggestion

you have 30 day trial period... (there is a restocking fee!!)
It does sound very reasonable that the EVO or EPIC will be open to us soon.. at least by Thanksgiving.
she can get one of the new android phones: ZIO or Transform. Try out android... and jump to EVO when it is released to us.

just a thought!

A heads up, i would stay away from the sprint ID phones. Just a warning. And stay away from the intercept. Just take my word for it, or laugh when it hits you; I told you so.

The last communication that Sprint employees received said the end of October. My sponsor emailed it to me. if there is another one that came out yesterday or today, my sponsor still has not seen it. so at this point, unless someone is going to post the communication, everything is simply speculation.

To quote Fat sam from Fletch "When it comes it comes"
:)

I agree VaDivot posted a communication in September telling to expect to receive the Evo Late October. Someone should copy and paste so we can all stay as informed as you are!

Sprint id phones so far are the transform and zio. Its prepackaged android apps. Stupid, because you HAVE to actually install a pack in order to even use the phone. It is built for foreigners cause of the different language capabilities.

All sponsors just have to check the employee i-connect for the update. It was released today, that they will give us the november release date within 2 weeks from now.

For help for the idiot employees, on i-connect it literaly has the title "HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic availability announcement coming" first one listed under "Sprint News" "Headlines"

We have been waiting since the Evo was released in June. They promised the Epic would come to us the day of its release. Sprint has been full of Sh*t and completely disregarded is SWAC members ever since these phones came out. If a new date doesn't come out very soon, sprint should not be mad when I buy a Droid 2 and try to use it on their service because if they won't provide a good high - end android phone to us , I should be allowed to use another phone on their service, after they have been toying with us for 4+ months

At this point, I do you guys think its worth it to get a Hero, or to get a Transform and just root it to get the crap sprint id out of it?

i love the Hero..but the Transform is new.. bigger screen.. 3.2 vs 3.5.

It would more likely get an official Gingerbread update.
