Do animals have souls?

It depends on what you mean by "soul".

If you mean some kind of spirit that lives inside of your physical body, then no they don't have that because it's pure fantasy. If you mean consciousness, well, they probably have it but much less than humans. The "mind" is nothing but chemical reactions in your brain.

In my mind, it's like the case of law... it's false until proven true. I have beliefs also, but they're a lot more science based, like life outside of our Earth for example.

That's the thing. Mine is just based on faith and hope, just like the soul. It's not true... yet. :) When I speak of life outside of Earth, I hope you aren't thinking of like little green, big eyed aliens.

Pish posh! :p I don't exactly understand how man returned the compliment though. Not what what Monsieur Voltaire means by "compliment".

Oooh I see. Sorry. I have a tough time with analyzing things such as that and literature. I'm currently doing a 3 page analysis in French on one paragraph from a 19th century French novel. I've been working on it for the past 7 hours and still have 3 paragraphs to go.

Wow personnification.... hmm... I think my soul can fly so I'd never have that situation. :p I'm not a fan of hamburgers either. :p
