When Android 2.2 will be available for Milestone?!

people should do some bloody research.

the latest cyanogenmod rom for the milestone is using the beta of the official motorola 2.2 kernel WHICH IS SIGNED TO WORK WITH THE MILESTONE BOOTLOADER. the kernel came directly from motorolas beta test of the official 2.2 rom being baked for the end of the year (or next millenium in the case of telus).

now that we are all educated ont he subject, go try out the G.O.T. 2.2.1 build which is essentially the motorola 2.2 beta and then try out the cyanogenmod (you need to install the 2.2.1 before you install the cyanogenmod anyway) and then come back here and recognise that it's moronic to wait for these ****head corporations to do anything when there are a bunch of really intelligent and dedicated coders making this shit happen for their enjoyment and everyone's benefit.

I am not impressed and I did update the phone the right way and still had many problems. The errors and crashing are not worth how the phone was working before which was flawless!

i dont find any of the bugs bad enough that i want to return to stock. i am thinking about returning to my nandroid of the previous 2.1 based cyanogen untill the next release of the 2.2 version.
the new camera is so good though.
decisions decisions.

2.1 was far from flawless. The CrystalTalk and Music app issues were beyond irritating. I'd rather have every single application force close than put up with that shit again.

Oh really? My Milestone running Cyanogen ROM begs to differ.

And here's a pic for proof. Do some research next time, kid. ;)

Unfortunatley there is misinformation here by the OP, he's only telling you some of the truth.
because of locking that has not been cracked, this 2.2 update is not everything an official 2.2 update brings, eg the main kernel.
You will gain some, but not all benefits from this update, and you may also suffer some regressions.
Saying that, it may be worthwhile to some people.

Of course it is not the same as the final build will be as this is a test version stolen from Motorola.

This is the leaked build of 2.2 from motorola. We have the new 2.2 kernel now

We have quite a few now.

Got 2.2.1

G.O.T 2.2.1 released G.O.T.'s Blog

Cyanogen Mod 6 RC1

CyanogenMod 6.1.0 RC1 for Milestone | android.doshaska.net

MotoIncred

Dexter's Mod's

All of these roms now use the new 2.6.32.9 Kernel that was leaked from the official 2.2 from Motorola. The rom was useless and buggy so they kernel was extracted

Ahhh, I thought you were talking about something newer. I have been running the GOT 2.2 for some time now and it is using the kernel you mentioned.

You just misinterpreted my statement about the Moto Rom.
