What is everyone using for notification, since Vibrant doesn't have LED

Or get Ringdroid.
It's a free andorid sound editor that you can use to make ringtones and notifications from any mp3 or sound file.

The NoLed developer is making almost daily updates, it works better and better everyday.

Is there different color LED's now? I haven't used it since it was kinda new and it didn't work well. I really don't think I need it but if it is a lot better id give it another try.

yes, not only are there different color leds, the leds are no longer restricted to one area of the screen, and there are even different colored icons now! You can set the colors, the icons, and how they hop around your screen.
Also I have seen no negative impact on battery.

To get it to work properly, make sure you follow his directions, use the widget to turn it on, reboot your phone, also if you are running ATK, add NoLed to your ignore list.

This app is awesome! I like how there are different colors for when you get a text, phone call, etc. This is an app that will get a ton of use from me.:D

Good to know NoLED has been updated, I will surely be re-installing it.

While we're on the subject of notifications, why is Kzurb Sonar absent from this phone? I had to settle with Tinkerbell :(

It seems like NoLED is still a bit fickle. I start it up and it works fine. Then I fiddle with some of the settings but then it stops working (until I reset my phone or something). Anyone else having these troubles?

Ya but not a deal breaker....i think he did say a reboot is needed after install so it may apply to setting changes also. Also make sure the widget is on not off...also make sure to add to ignore list if u run atk.

everyone at work just gave me dirty looks when the sonar went off, they knew who and what it was. lol

The developer of NoLed is just amazing. The developer seriously does like daily updates. The most recent updates are just amazing.
Also you have really cool icons now specific to each kind of notification. There is an email icon, missed call icon, sms icon...etc.

It is fantastic, works flawlessy now. If you installed it when it first came out, give it another try now, it truly has improved a lot.

I see he has updated it numerous times, i just dont have any interest in it. I think the notifications are pretty damn good without an LED and for some reason, that one just didnt do anything for me. But that was a while ago. Isnt it in the market now?

NoLed is in the market.

Do you have a different sound for SMS and Email? I enjoy having the notification for SMS, but I get a lot of emails, and would appreciate it if I could have it make no sound when I get an email, but sound when I get an SMS, is this possible to do?

Yes, this is exactly how I have it. Set a default notification sound, then go to Gmail > Settings > Ringtone > Silent

If you're using the generic email app then I'm not sure, but I'd assume it's similar.

Thanks Sammy. I did install it when it first came out & didn't really care for it. I'll definitely give it another shot. I like the idea of the icons that tell you what you've missed!

Yes, go into settings and play around with the different features the developer has added. Truly fantastic, absolutely accurate, and no battery drain.

Additionally, the developer makes almost daily updates. Remember to always go to your market, then downloads, and see if updates are available, apply as needed!

OK, I think I'm missing something here...because I can't get it to work! I have a feeling it's just something tiny I'm overlooking.

To get NoLed to work, try the following:
1) Long press on any available space on your homescreen
2) select android widgets
3) select the NoLed widget
4) then tap the widget to turn NoLed on...(you will see 3 colored boxes in the widget) indicating you turned it on
5) Then try rebooting your phone.

That should work.

That worked! I had made a shortcut to the NoLed app, but not the widget. That was the problem. Thanks!

No problem!

Go to market, download the update! Yet again, the developer updated the program this evening!

Check everyday, the developer seriously does nearly daily updates.

Also go into settings to customize NoLed to your liking.

This is the best program ever!

My problem is that they have these detectors that detect your face nearby the phone that don't always work (at least for me- they fail and end a call or mute someone randomly) and they couldn't spare another 2mm for one that lights up? And don't get me started on the whole forward camera thing when they were going to release the 'near' 4g speeds the same month.....

if you have it set on speakerphone, the proximity sensor will not work.
