Stuck on the boot screens?

Legal

Newbie
So I just rooted my phone successfully (I think) using the information here:

[ROOT] Easy Root, works with any Stock ROM (Including 2.31.651.7!) - Page 2 - xda-developers

And then I tried flashing Aloysius 2.1 using the information found here:

[ROOT] Easy Root, works with any Stock ROM (Including 2.31.651.7!) - Page 2 - xda-developers

So after I followed all of the instructions and told my phone to reboot, it's been stuck going between the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen and then the "Sprint Welcome to now" animations. Has anyone encountered anything like this before?

Thanks in advance.

Reboot into recovery and wipe data, davlik cache and sd ext (no, it won't wipe your sd card). Reflash the ROM. :)

I'm trying this right now, but this will be the third time I'm trying it only to receive the same result. What's worrying me is when I flash the ROM it only takes about six seconds to install, which seems way too fast.

Yeah, regular reboots and recovery reboots are giving me the same result alike.

@Kelmar: just so I can be sure, you're saying I should:
1) "wipe data/factory reset" from the main screen
2) "wipe dalvik cache" from the advanced menu
3) "format sd-ext" from the partitions menu
4) and simply install my zip

correct?

Legal, yes, follow those 4 steps from the recovery screen (press and hold "home + power buttons" from when the phone is off).

Try redownloading the ROM too. It is possible you have a bad download.

I have to claim ignorance on this one, but if I can't get my phone to boot, then how can I access my SD card on my computer to put the newly downloaded rom on there?
