Update coming....

I'm also considering buying it out right. Ik now if you dont have the $450 upfront, you can have it chopped up in to 4 installments on the next 4 bills.

I get mine chopped into 20 installments. I don't know if that's because I buy it outright or because I'm on the Even More + plan or both.

Sombionix and Eugene have a fully working froyo rom now. You guys might wanna check it out on xda:D. I'm testing Bionix Obisidan v1 right now. No issues whatso ever yet.:D

According to Galaxy S on Facebook, the Vibrant & Cappy OTA's begin on Nov 11th.

I actually do believe this one is for the vibrant because at xda their are fully working froyo roms...I may be crazy but I don't really like to root my phone or anything much from stock.

Just discovered a mounting issue that makes the leaked Froyo unusable.

It's fixed now; at least for the time being. And there's a flashable .zip file for the leaked T-mobile 2.2 rom that you can use clockworkmod with.:D;)

I'm running Eugene's second unOfficial release as of last night.

No issues so far, but nothing "OMG!!!! GOTTA HAVE!!!!" yet, either (Flash works fine, but now I have ads on my mobile browsers V_V)

How helpful is it for non vibrant users to post in a vibrant thread regarding the update to froyo 2.2 for the vibrant?

1] they don't have the phone involved
2] they cant help on issues regarding it [when it comes]
3] if they have been ragging on the vibrant and bought a new/different device really do we need to listen to them tell us how much better they think the new one is?

It would be constructive and helpful if it was a general thread regarding an app's usage.....

But posting in the vibrants thread just cuz your lonely in the one where your supposed to be helping others with the my4g is pointless to post some where regarding the vibrant!

I'm quite sure that the mt4g has a place to discuss it's quirks and issues but as a vibrant owner looking for vibrant information I'm sure as heck not not trolling in the mt4g forum looking for information. its not at all relevant or helpful for me to even post in the mt4g area questions regarding my vibrant....so why do you think its relevant to post your love and adoration for the mt4g here?

sheesh !

My comment about the MT4G was in response to the conversation Ghost and VegasTouch were having about that very same device. Read the thread again. You make it sound like I posted about it out of the blue. You've never seen a thread stray a bit off topic before? Besides, no one else got their panties in a twist over my one lil comment. What does that tell you? I have every right to post here because I have an interest in the Vibrant and what's happening with it.

+1.....highjacking a thread, for whatever reason, only contributes to the clutter on these forum and makes finding useful information more difficult and I do believe this post was originally titled 'Update coming'. Start another thread so we don't have to plow through it to find something relevant.

Or in the case of the thread completely useless.

You have the option to NOT read anything you do not like. I dont see a problem posting something about another phone but if you do, dont read it next time you see it.

FWIW - I think Samsung has a LOT riding on the successful executions & timeliness of these updates. The Samsung Nexus S/Nexus 2/whatever they're going to call it is looking to be more & more like a reality. When the Galaxy S series was announced there were so many nay-sayers talking about how those devices won't get updates based on what had happened with the Behold 2. Everyone was able to overlook that because the Galaxy S series is top of the line & surely Samsung wouldn't drop support for such a high-profile line of phones. Well, so far for the Vibrant the GPS update really didn't fix much & there still isn't a concrete timeframe for the Froyo update. The Vibrant has been out for nearly 4 months which in terms of a 2 year contract really isn't that long, but in device development time it represents a lot more.

I've never ragged on the Vibrant. For awhile I was willing to wait for the updates along w/ the rest of you. After I got the GPS update & it didn't really fix it, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. GPS functionality is something I need. Otherwise I think it's a wonderful device overall.

Funny, my GPS experience has been pretty positive. My only issue is random very fast battery drains out of nowhere, but it seems a lot of Android phones have this issue due to the poor quality of some apps. Seems to work as well as any previous smartphone I've owned, but I am getting impatient with Froyo. Supposedly it was going to be rolled out before the end of this year, supposedly before Thanksgiving. Now there's no news and from what I can tell a new update that remove the JI6 update. Perhaps this is in preparation for Froyo.

okay this is 11/15 now,
there r so many rumors in the same day,

Nexus S, Froyo of vibrant, Android 2.3, blablabla..

Nope pretty sure it wasn't because I still had the issue in V2. Fixed in V3 though ;).

So far this ROM is soooo solid. Loving it so much. :D

Actually no need to update the thread title. We have 2.2 though not official and just a few little hiccups, but we still have it. And now that I think of it that screen might have been for internal use only and well they could be passing out a build today to all of the employees.... I was just hoping for it to be for an OTA....
