Taxi Magic "stuck" on "Installing" since 11pm last night!

Anyone else having this issue?

I've UNinstalled the app through Manage Applications, so the app is no longer on my phone.

Yet "INSTALLING" is showing in the Market AND "Uninstall" is NOT working on AppBrain!

I've rebooted the phone 3 times since this happened. Can't kill the "Installing" msg in the Market.

Update:

Taxi Magic is still downloading.

I cleared the Market Cache, but that made no difference.

Don't need to factory reset, since the download is just in the Market, nothing is happening on the phone (e.g., no battery drain from the phantom download).

Anything else that might help clear this? What would happen if I uninstall then reinstalled the Market app?

What about clearing the cache in Market Updater? I'd hesitate to actually uninstall Market.

Where is the Market Updater? If you mean Settings > Manage Applications > Market > Clear Cache...I've done that already, but no dice.

You have to set the filter to All. Once you get to Manage Applications hit the Menu key. You'll get a popup that has "Sort by size" and "Filter." Hit Filter and select All and you'll find Market Updater.

Just tried that, neither data nor cache were active. Only button active was Force Close, which I did. Went back to the Market. Taxi Magic is still installing. How annoying.

I don't have "Clean APP Data" when I get to that screen.

I do have "Uninstall Updates" (did not click this) or "Clear Cache" (which I did do).

What would happen if I clear "Uninstall Updates" -- Does that uninstall ALL my apps which I have successfully updated? Or will it just stop Taxi Magic from continuing to try to install? Don't want to do former.

You don't have the button in the middle on the left that says "clear data"?

Uninstall updates only uninstalls updates for that particular app.

That is correct. On my Captivate, there is a DATA label BUT..

Where you have "CLEAR DATA", I have a blank. Where you have "Move to SD" I show "UNINSTALL UPDATES"

Not sure if you have the same issue as me but I was unable to dowload or update any apps for over a month - they just got stuck downloading and never completed.

Eventually I had to do a factory reset and start again - a right pain obviously but it cured the problem.

I did actually have this problem, but was able to go through a convoluted process to uninstall and reinstall apps that were hung up...The only one I could not get to clear out in this manner was Taxi Magic. So it's been downloading in my Market since LAST TUESDAY (11/2 !!!!)

Have you been able to sign into Gtalk?

I think this problem will require a factory reset, but since it's simply annoying, not debilitating, I'll wait until I flash to the official Froyo when it's released. I may have to reinstall apps then anyway, so I can wait.

Thanks all for trying. This is just annoying.

Sorry I couldn't get it resolved for you. When my son comes home from college, I'll take a look at his and see if I can figure it out.
