Accessories Battery from ebay, 2 batteries + Charger for $10.

Just got these in the mail today. It seems that I received the wrong charger. The Batteries don't fit or want to stay in? I.E. the Batteries are bigger than the charger itself. Anyone else have these issues?

No, mine was fine.

Did you contact the seller, it may of been an honest error.

I have not yet contacted the seller. Im going to right now. BTW what number do you have on the charger itself. I just noticed mine says "for Samsung i8910/B7300" Different phone different battery size?

I don't have my charger with me right now, but I did post a picture of it a few post back.

shoppinghome99 is a stand up seller. The charger that I received was the wrong one. He is sending the correct charger, his mistake. I would recommend this ebayer!

For those who ordered the $10 kit and have used them...Are you happy with the results?

Quite, and glad I got it, my wife often forgets to charge her phone so I've swapped hers when we're running and she notices her phone didn't get charged in the last few day.

Here is how i seem to get a bit more battery life. I charge it overnight with the phone off. In the morning i turn it on with the charger still plugged in. My battery icon says 100% but it still charges for a while. I used to unplug it before turning it on but the battery icon would show 98% even tho it was charging all night..

The key to solve everyones battery problems... 3 easy steps!!!

I did this and i get 2 days HEAVY use, and I MEAN HEAVY:

DISPLAY 3H 56 MINUTES
CALLS 56 M
STAND BY 2 DAYS 2 HOURS

1.) Throw away the OEM charger. its a bin part for their bluetooth head sets.

2. go get an HTC usb USB wall charger, or one that produces a FULL 1 AMP (1000 ma) on the output, with 5v. any UL device will say the output on the charger itself.

WHY? the captivate is rated at 1000 ma, or 1 amp. the battery is 3.7 volt @ 1500 MA !!!! and here is the problem... SAMSUNG GIVES YOU A 700 MA CHARGER!!! WTF SAMSUNG?

3.) retrain your battery. the longest part of the process!!!

wait for your battery to go completely dead!!! until the device shuts off!!!
charge it with the new wall charger for 12 hours... with it off... I mean off...then:
---use your phone normally, u wont notice a change just yet. use it over a day as u normally would. run the battery completely dead again.
do this for 2 weeks strait. im serious. it sucks, but u have to do this.

after about the 6th day, you will notice that your battery will go a little more each day.

after the 2 weeks, you should have about 25% more life. why?

OEM gives you a 700 ma charger @ 3.7 volts. your battery is rated at 1500 ma.
Rule of thumb for charging? 2/3 the capacity of the battery for ma, with oem your getting less than half.

THIS IS WHY YOUR BATTERY SUCKS!!!! ITS THE CHARGER!!!

ALSO, there is an error in the charging display when the phone is on. when you get that message on the screen "battery is full, unplug charger" turn off your phone while still being plugged in. the battery picture will show the battery still charging, and it has about 15 percent more to go... dont believe me? try it yourself... ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS OFF WILL IT CHARGE IT 100%, and the battery icon will say 100% when fully charged.

then u can try these things to:
First things first, get an app killer.
dont run those INSTANT UPDATE facebook/twitter acounts, they should only update when the screen is on (a setting in the app killer).
live wall paper--if you must, run one thats dark in color. i personally use the starfeild, as it is mostly black and it is a small file.
i have a brightness toggle, goes from full to minimum with a touch. i dont use the automatic screen adjustment, for some reason it dims it in sunlight and brightens in the dark... it should be reversed if u ask me.

So thats it. i have done this with my battery, it was built in august (the battery) and the preformance is outstanding.

I just dug through my usb chargers and found a Belkin 1amp 5.5v. Does the extra .5v pose a problem?

your good!!! most companies dont put that extra .5 v on the end, USBs tend to be all across the board on output, from 4.8v to 5.8... ACDC only draws what volt it needs anyway. if you look at some wall chargers (non usb) the output will read 110=/-120, with a squiggile equal sign. it means the charger is tollerant of 110 to 120 volt variation, and will produce the same current.

Does the battery actually charge faster?

If not, then the phone is limiting the charge .... so its the retraining of the batteries and your smart settings that are getting you extra running time.

I think mine has been as long as 5 hours on the PC cable charging .... crazy long !!! I have a 120v-->5v/1000ma output charger for my ipod .... haven't used it yet though

Im no expert but wont a higher powered charger only allow faster charging, and even then its up to the phone to determine what is acceptable charge rate?

battery conditioning likely makes the biggest difference.

Yep, I got mine too! $10 shipped....great deal. I love having two backup batteries at all time......I can't remember the last time I plugged the phone in directly.

Well got my Charger & Batteries today, so far, seems ok

Charging them now. (No flames at least :D )

I did a couple of rounds of complete chare and complete discharge when I first got the phone, and my battery seems to be very ok. Though this morning I put it through some somewhat heavy browsing and usage which brought me down to 65% within 3hrs of turning it on at 100% charge.

Now, I usually have my USB cable with me, so I can just pop it into the USB port on my computer at work to charge it, however I would like to be able to just forget it at home on most ocasions, and I know there will be times when I won't have access to a charger and will be using my phone rather heavily (Geocaching..).

So... I went ahead and bought those two batteries from ebay. Hopefully it works out. If not, the charger will be good to have, and I can buy an official Samsung one later.

no, ACDC only draws what volts it needs... your good.

This is not true at all.

A device will only draw what current (amps) it needs, up to the max capacity of the charger, but the volts are constant and it has to accept whatever volts is supplied (pushed) by the charger.

That said, tolerances should easily allow the extra 0.5V.
