I need advice, guys.

I just got an xbox. I have borderlands. I'm looking for a new game.

I want oblivion. I've played it a lot on my computer though, but without decent graphics and usually around 480x2xx resolution. Not great. However I love the mods. I do want to get it eventually, I'm just not sure if I want it to be the first game I buy.

I've also been told to get fallout 3.

I'm a nintendo fanboy, I've got a wii with like 53 games on my hard drive. I'm not sure what all there is for the xbox besides big names, and even then I'm not entirely sure. I know Shadow Complex, a metroidvania style game written by one of my favorite authors.

Recommendations?
 
If you liked oblivion then whoever recommended Fallout 3 was right on the money :)
 
I have a ps3 but im the odd one out of all my friends becuase they all have 360 lol.
I played some good games on their ones and my fav 360 exclusive games are

Halo , ( pretty good fps but im a pc person)
Gears of War( really really fun)
Fable ( if you are into rpg)

Non exclusive 360 games

bayonetta ( good hack and slash sorta game, great fun plus the main character is smoking hot)
you can get cod black ops soon ( nov 9th)

cant thing of any more at the top of my head but just go into any game shop and look at the 360 section , browse around and see what interests you and if you are not sure you can always look at reviews.
 
Fable 3 looks pretty nice.

There are 3 DLC's for borderlands... I have played the first 2 and zombie island is a great DLC.
 
Sorry - you have a wii hard drive?
I have one and my friend is big into hacking them - he sas not possible :/

Yes, you can run games off a hard drive on a modded wii.

I personally would skip Fallout 3 and get New Vegas. It's much more refined than FO3, and is developed by the same people who made the original games, so the atmosphere is much more like what you would expect from Fallout than FO3 ever got close to.

However, these games are really best played on PC where you can mod them however you like. I would not want to play them on an xbox as the controls are not suited well for consoles.
 
Fable2 and 3. Both bioshocks. I can also verify what bramsy said and add that all of the dlc for borderlands is worth every penny.
 
For big titles, check out Mass Effect 1 and 2 are must haves. You could also check out Lost Odyssey, Fable 2 and 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Alan Wake.

As far as XBL Arcade goes.. Limbo, Castle Crashers, Trials HD, Castlevania: SotN, and Shadow Complex are the only ones that pop up in my mind immediately.
 
fallout new vegas ftw

fallout 3 was incredible...incredible (imo)

i liked borderlands

been playing a lot of bops lately, but fallout new vegas is defo on my hit list next.
 
Definitely get Halo:Reach and CoD Black ops for your multiplayer games.

If you like action games try out Dante's Inferno, it plays a lot like God of War and you can pick it up used for around $25.

All of the above mentioned games via other forum-goers are quality titles and deserve your attention as well!
 
Get Fallout 3 first, FNV is more like an expansion. The game is the same, except for a few things that I already added to Fallout 3 before FNV being released with mods. That said, FNV does have a new (good) storyline. Though the wasteland in FNV feels so big and empty while in Fallout 3 there's just more to see IMO.
 
The Fable's are really great RPGs for 360. Personally I like Fable 2 better than Fable 3 but they're both awesome. Enjoy =)
