Sprint Hero from Best Buy.

So here's my dilemma, I really want this phone, but I can't convince my wife to let me spend the $180 for the upgrade. Any one able to upgrade for the $100 new contract price? If so how did you do it? Any Best Buy employees out there with any advice? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Keep the old phone and upgrade the wife!

But I would be patient... there are bound to be more sales and coupons for sure. :)
 
Call sprint and let them know your eligible for a upgrade and can they match bestbuy.

Unfortunately that would cost more than $180 upgrade fee.:)
And the wife could care less about her phone so upgrading both our phones wouldn't convince her and we only have one upgrade available. Trying to sell my Curve and an old Sony TM506 on Craigslist to get the money, just starting to get impatient and extremely jealous of all of you Hero owners. I've actually become somewhat obsessed with this phone and have only played with it for a few minutes at a Sprint store.
 
I upgraded my Instinct through a work website we have that gives us discounts on new phones and gives me 20% off the plan. I am in michigan also, if you want PM me and i can see if i can set it up for you. I paid 30 bucks out of pocket and got billed 12 for shipping and 18 to activate. So not bad $60 bucks total for a upgrade.

Hahaha, just PMed him the same thing. Unfortunately Sprint has figured out that this deal is getting exploited and they have killed the link.

By the way, you should see those shipping and activation charges disappear on your next bill
 
Ya i ordered mine last week and i had to use the webchat for the website i ordered it from to even contact them. The sales manager told me they got a ton of orders through a unauthorized link, that must be what you are talking about. I work with a company that has a legit account for ordering though so my phone still got shipped thur and i recieved it on friday. My work site is still up for ordering the phone though just checked again.

Hmm you think i might not get charged the shipping and activation? They just said it would show up on my next bill.
 
Ah, nice. I definitely used the unauthorized link that someone was selling on eBay, which hopefully won't come back to haunt me. Anyway, assuming that all the business deals get treated the same way (except for the exact discount percentage), I would imagine that you would have your fees waived as well. I was charged $31.something for my Hero, and no other charges showed up on my bill. Good luck with yours! OP will be glad to hear from you.
 
No she won't she's already complaining about how long I spend on the computer researching it and I don't even own it yet.

Hahaha! My wife thinks I'm having an affair cause I never put my Hero down. Yes I am dear, but my mistress is a PHONE! ...and oh how sexy she is... BAAAAHHHHHHahahahaha
 
I know i must say i love this phone. I think my GF thinks i am crazy. I also love the screen since it wipes clean so easy and does not scratch vs my instincts.

Was the instinct screen Glass? I've always had problems with scratched screen, Hero still clean (knock on wood) but I think maybe it's because it has a glass screen. My previous BBs and other winmo device screens always got scratched beyond recognition.
 
It was plastic, and was ok for a bit then got trashed. I was always worried with what i wiped it with. This screen though being glass is so nice to clean and wipe off. I am going to go without a case or screen protector on this but i make sure its the only thing in my pocket and being careful with it.
 
upgrade online and have them bill it to your account. it will show on your NEXT month's bill, that will give you an extra 30 to 45 days to pay for it.
 
I have a buyer for my Curve I just need to know how to deactivate when I sell it. Also wondering if BB will activate the new phone with my number even though it's my mother in laws upgrade?
