Root Fission 2.1 final

I installed Fission 2.2.1 (I think that was the number) and i have to say it's by far the best ROM I've ever run.

After toying around and setting it up I think I may have found a little glitch in it. I set my regular ringtone no problem. However, when I set the ringtone for an individual contact, it'll show that it's set; but when that person calls - it still rings with the regular overall ringtone.

Any ideas?

Tom, would you say there is any advantage to using the dx/d2 oc app vs flashing the built in oc with fission (I still have 2.1's profiles) I'm happy running the stock clock plus ULV as it is. And is there a way to check the current clock speeds and vsel with terminal or something to make sure the old profile worked??

jrummy's app is great. you can change on the fly without rebooting. has some other goodies in it as well. there is a widget that displays info like setcpu also within the app you can view current settings. ;)

I was having this happen on the stock 2.2. I think others were too if I'm not mistaken.

Start with ULV at 1.1 and if it's stable, try the next step, 1.15. Don't just bump it to 1.45 and expect it to work. Do NOT set it to boot until you know it's stable. Quadrant can be used to check if it's stable, although I prefer SetCPU (info... stress test). If you can run the stress test for 20 minutes without problems, you have a candidate for boot IMO. Staying at ULV will improve your battery life. I see no reason to use LV unless ULV will not run at 1.00 and using medium voltage or higher is asking for trouble.

Wait does SetCPU also OC your device? I never sprung the cash for it yet, maybe I should.

I'm gonna grab jrummy's app now and check it out. Thanks!

Wasn't there a .zip floating around that was supposed to fix this. It may have been another rom though, can't remember.

There was. I tested it out for him on 2.0.1 and it didn't really fix it. It was hit or miss.

Setcpu doesn't oc your phone only underclock. Setcpu is nice though because you can set up profiles that can underclock it when your battery is below a specific point for instance.

set cpu does not actually overclock but it allows you to set how high or low the clocking goes as well as set profiles life while on charger, at a certain temperature, battery level, Etc.

its got to have. i use it in conjunction with jrummy's tool.

+1 to setcpu

having it underclock to run at 300 while the screen is off is great - doesn't affect audio streaming

I only use it to run a stress test. I figure if I can run twenty minutes at a certain w/o a crash, I'm good.

Thanks I ran a stress today earlier at 1.1 and 1.15 for 40 minutes each, no errors.

When I set it to start at boot though, things seem a little twonky. Like checking the SD card in the status bar etc seems to hang a bit. Dunno if that has happened to anyone else though. Maybe I will leave it and see how the phone performs.

Right now, I'm back to stock settings.

Another test you can do is to set the governor to "performance" instead of "onDemand", then go play a game or something else that taxes the cpu and graphics. Watch for hangs or goofy behavior. "Performance" means the cpu will sit at max speed, bad for battery, but good for a stress test.

Set it back to "onDemand" when you dial in a good speed.

I thought 1.35 or 1.30 was stable, but at 1.35 I couldn't even play Angry Birds and had a FC in Dx OC with 1.30 so have it at 1.25 for now.

Thanks for the information. I have to say though, I don't even have any games installed!

May just have to give one a go!

not 1 single reboot since I had this rom....not even using a taskiller or app killer at all.... just beautiful... I am just waiting now on a nice theme =)

I'm running the blackout theme by javroch or whatever he name is lol I have to say its the best looking theme I've found on any rom.

yeah. i am running the same theme. i just replaced the battery images with the circle ones.

Hahaha I forgot to mention that part. I think the circle battery mod just sets it over the top.

Angie can you share the link for the theme please?? :D Yeah I very please with this rom... I tried 3 different ones so far... ApeX, RubiX and now Fission... Great job from every single group. But so far I like this one a lil better.... ;)
