Which Android handset shall I buy?

Hi all,

I'm currently an iPhone owner but my contract is running out in January and I'm keen to get hold of a handset with Android on it. I have had my iPhone for a couple of years now so in need of change.

Any recommendations on which Android handset I should buy in January or any coming our later in the year that I should wait for?

Thanks all, I went for the HTC Hero in the end and really like it. I have 7 days to decide if I want to keep it or go back to the iPhone. At the moment the Hero is winning.
