Help Exchange ActiveSync - can't specify a port?

Looks like the new version was posted today. I haven't installed it but I don't think it will work on my Droid (Sholes), since the only listed supported "Droid" is the Droid Eris and other 1.6 devices. Any word Holly on if this is fixed, i.e. meaning full Android 2.0 support (ability to run the switching center on the "standard" ports since 2.0 doesn't support changing the port) ?

Well, I can report that the new 5.11 software does install successfully on my PC and new readme instructions for Droid configuration is also successful.

I'm now waiting for the device to start/complete synchronization of data. There doesn't seem to be a progress bar anywhere to reflect this.

Data synchronization completed... it'll take a couple days to shake out what works and what doesn't, but I'm comfortable enough with it to uninstall Touchdown

Interesting.. I cancelled my Verizon account.. I still have the Droid so I suppose I could test this over WiFi.

Can you confirm the following works:

1) Sync tasks
2) Sync address book
3) Address Book lookup (GAL)
4) HTML email

I don't know how to check #1. I don't recall seeing any native support for tasks on my Droid.
I can confirm a synchronized address book.
I can't find any option for an address book lookup. There doesn't appear to be any native support in Android for such. I also can't recall there being such a function provided by Commontime even when I had a Windows Mobile phone months ago.
I can't verify #4 yet, since all of my mail under this corporate account has disappeared from the device. Now all I get is an error message on the device "Unable to open connection to server." I do however have an HTML encoded email in my inbox at the moment, so once I figure out how to get any mail back on the device, I should be able to comment on this (or maybe knowing that I'm already having issues with such a simple operation, you've made up your mind).

OK, that problem resolved itself apparently. I can now confirm that HTML email works and also emails with attachments work. I opened a PDF someone sent me, with no issues.

On a Droid (Sholes) here. All I'm getting is the "Unable to open connection to server". Also, didn't even see a choice to sync the Corporate Calendar. That's a severe limitation if that's truly not available here. Without an ability to get my calendar and also respond to invites, this is of much more limited functionality.

I got a lot of those Unable to open connection to server errors within the first 1-2 hours of doing the configuration. I enabled logging and looked at the logs for the Exchange Adapter component. Near as I could tell, that error would show on the device when there was an entry in the log where a new replication attempt was started while an existing replication attempt hadn't completed. As as I said, after a couple hours, it seems like its all replicated and that error hasn't shown up lately.

After you've configured your account, you should go to Settings > Accounts & sync and click on your corporate account. Ensure 'Sync Corporate Calendar' is selected.

When I opened Corporate Calendar, it automatically fetched about a month's worth of calendar data. I haven't gotten any calendar invites today, so I can't attest to how that'll function. Likely a good chance of testing that tomorrow or Friday.

May give it a try again tomorrow. In Settings -> Accounts and Sync, though, there wasn't even an option to "Sync Corporate Calendar", just "Sync Address Book".

Also, I find it fascinating that on their home page you can now register for updates because Motorola Droid compatibility is "coming soon" for mNotes... Doesn't sound promising for getting 5.0.11 working anytime soon...

dshay - I am concerned someone had a email saying mNotes 5.11 for Driod was release yesterday - nothing like this should have been sent out. At the last minute support for Droid in 5.11 had t be dropped. It failed the last testing before release so we didn't want to guarentee it would work. On everything that was sent out Droid support was said to be coming soon - so sorry to have news of another delay after posting it was to be supported, but at the last minute R&D were not happy. Should be v early 2010 as it is being worked on now. So sorry not to have been able to post this yesterday!

Kunfusion - glad that this seems to be working for you. At the last minute 5.11 could not officially support the Droid as a couple of things didn't work perfectly for us. I would look out for an update in the New Year. You can download software updates once you have mNotes installed / bought etc.

At the moment CommonTime can only guarantee support for the following Android devices - Acer Liquid A1, Motorola Cliq / Orange DEXT, HTC Droid Eris, HTC Hero. Support for Motorola Droid and T Mobile G1 and many more Androids is coming in 2010. We will not say we support a device until it has passed Quality tests and been fully qualified, although obviously some users on here may find otherwise! This is the case for both the mSuite and mNotes products at the moment.

We will let those that sign up for updates know asap about release dates etc for mSuite and mNotes, so worth doing:
