Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

Fab, that sounds awesome. I've gone back to V1 again and again after trying the other roms out, i'm very much looking forward to running 1.1. Soon as the full SBF drops or the OTA comes out...whichever happens first!

anyone who is running 2.2.1...can you confirm that HDMI is working?
 
installed 1.1... everything has synced except my contacts for some reason. How do I get that back? Its checked on the gmail settings to sync contacts. I have manually hit sync in the settings area as well. I also have everything backed up to TiBu if needed. Other than that all else is running great so far

but could u pls use the moto SMS. i do like the messaging widget.
 
Okay. After a reboot my contacts are back. 1.1 is running good for me. It doesn't appear to be ad free... maybe we have to add the ad free app separately now?

Using the milestone app to overclock which was super easy. OC at 1.25 72vsel

Doh! I forgot all about that! I'll be sure to add that file back in, along with the updated ADW.Launcher that was just released.

Thanks for reminding me, and I should have a final release later tonight. I'll have a new thread up for it.
 
Awesome, thanks fab! Other items I have in TiBu that don't seem to install are:
Music Mod
Moro Torch
Ringer Toggle

Were they part of the previous rom and are they okay to install from Market?

Yeah, those were part of the previous release, and you can just get (probably) newer versions from the market.
 
Don't know if this is ROM related, but I haven't had the issue until now. I received 1 text message, and after that, none of my texts would send. I also seem to not be receiving them, as others have tried to send me texts and they haven't gone through. I have done *228, I have uninstalled Handcent and installed Chomp SMS to see if it was the app, and it still happens in Chomp. I reset the phone, did a battery pull, turned the network on and off, nothing has worked. Does anyone know what this could be? It's really annoying, I feel like I've exhausted all possibilities.

Phone calls work by the way. And apparently some of my texts receive the other end now. I still am not getting any texts, which seems to be the only problem.

Hrm, I'll look into it. I just had a pretty lengthy conversation with my roommate though, so perhaps it's network related in your area?

Reinstalled Apex and put the circle battery on and now its white with a green dot in the middle. Last time I flashed it, it was green with nothing in the middle. Whats up anyone?
 
noob here. Ive flashed a couple of roms but this is my first stab at APEX 1.0
I have a couple of questions:

To install themes do I need to put them in a special folder?

Does the HDMI out work out of the box?

Im trying to use REAL HDMI and it doesnt detect a connection.
 
@bundee1, the theme files are flashable .zips just like the ROM itself, and you install them in the exact same manner (minus the wiping of data and cache). You can put the file itself in any folder you'd like, though it's probably easiest if you just keep it on the root of the sdcard.

As for HDMI, I've been told it works fine OOB, but I don't have the cable so I personally cannot confirm it. What happens when you try to use the HDMI funtion built in the gallery?

Thanks for the quick reply. Im using REAL HDMI which I thought would detect whatever I have on the screen at the time and output through the hdmi cable. Ill test it out some more and get back to you. Thanks again.

No, if you flash 1.2, you'll have non-working media. You need to flash 1.0.2, which is the same ROM, but for those who haven't flashed the leak.

The leak still uses 2.6.32.9, but it's different than the one from OTA/2.3.15
 
Flashed 1.0.2 and I can't call anybody. Dialer will only let you dial 2 digits and then it kicks you back to the home screen and kills the mobile connection. I just spent 15 minutes trying to call my wife and finally had to use Voice Commands to do it.

Any ideas? Otherwise ROM looks great and is silky smooth. New transitions are pretty cool too.
