Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

I got this installed this morning (using the 2.3.15 build) along with the Revolution theme, clock removal mod and circle battery icons. The install went fine, as usual, and things are running great so far. Thanks again Fab.

from the looks of this, LauncherPro Plus should work on this instead of ADW right?
Nothing against ADW, but ive just gotten used to my LPP widgets lol
also, I should be able to use nextheme from Apex from before as well?

It's Launcher Pro Plus and I installed the Revolution theme from Apex, the google quick search widget is pulled from 928 BGX.

yeah LPP will work fine. You can even go so far as removing adw (once you have LPP installed) by typing into the terminal:

launcher -rm

As for the themes, looks like people are installing them without too many issues, though I will have updated versions later this week w/ the new transitions and 10% battery increments and 2.2.1 versions of the apps (the current themes use 2.2 versions).

awesome! thanks! Ill be installing this from 2.3.15
also, one more thing, small/stupid thing but I use it all the time, is the multimedia dock thing still work in this? I use my phone as my alarm clock at night so I put it into the multimedia dock and use the alarms on the phone. for some reason I'm thinking thats a blur deal though so ill probably have to reinstall it?

I don't have a multimedia dock, but I left Dock.apk in there, and I'm assuming that's what it is for ;)

Though...the default alarm clock is the AOSP one, so, if you need the Blur one for it to work, you'll need to run:

su
alarm -mot

got it. thanks so much fab. really appreciate the quick responses. now ive just gotta wait 2 minutes for the file to finish downloading

If you want to test for your releases, you can just use a standard magnet placed on the back of the phone, towards the bottom of the battery compartment. One polarity gives you the car dock, the other polarity gives you the home dock.

Ok..so I got apex 1.2.1 on my droid x and I went from rubix 1.8.9..everything is great and I like the performance and functionality but one problem that im having is that my music player does not work nor the youtube..I checked all of my music settings and everything is good..what can it be? I would appreciate any answers

I'm running 1.2.1 and I'm getting force closes every time I try to add a calendar event. I installed this over TranQ 3.5 with cache and data wipe...

This sounds like you're not on the leak kernel. Did you ever flash the leak to 2.3.320?

There are two versions. If your media is not working, that means you flashed the wrong version.

I'm running 1.2.1 and I'm getting force closes every time I try to add a calendar event. I installed this over TranQ 3.5 with cache and data wipe...

Through the default calendar app? I just added an event no problem...perhaps try going into applications, manage, all, and clearing calendar data and cache? Then let it resync.

any time i try to do a restore from Titanium Backup i get a reboot.

Were you trying to do other things (using other apps) while TiBu was restoring? If so, just let it restore everything before you do anything else.

I had a reboot when restoring user apps today after flashing Apex but I was doing other things at the same time. The second time I just let TiBu do the full restore before I continued using the phone and it was fine.

Are you overclocked? Granted, I didn't do a batch restore, but I just restored a couple apps and it worked just fine.

not overclocked...i've tried a batch restore and tried restoring just one app....reboots eveytime.

and it's stuck on installing some apps from the market and there is no way to cancel them once they are at that stage in the android market.

EDIT: It reboots eveytime an app is attempted to be installed. Market or Titanium.

You should be able to long press on the app, in the market, and press cancel download.

once it's passed the downloading stage and onto "installing" you can't cancel it.

I had a problem, periodically, with apps being stuck on installing and had to cancel then restart them (sometimes multiple times) to get them to actually finish installing. You either do i through your download list in the Market or on the page for the specific app, it's one or the other.

Are you trying to restore only apps + data, or are you restoring system data also. System data is a no-no.

awesome. definitely looking forward to some updated theme-age.

Fab this is great! thanks for this! weird thing happened, I didn't have to reinstall any of my apps. it reinstalled all of them automatically within a few seconds... maybe thats normal. Im defiantly not gonna complain lol

also, jut fyi, all this info is correct. The dock still works, but when you press the alarm button it kicks back to the main screen out of the dock. typing the "su> alarm -mot" fixes that issue so that everything works well
