Root Ok so I have to show you something...

Hmm.. Anyway, Kingston has a Lifetime warranty on their cards..So.. :)

Just wanted to share this ROM, which comes with Data2SD built in. Stock based..

Intreguing... I presume you still have to (re)partition your SD card and set it up for Data2SD before you can use the ROM... But is it cutting any corners? Also, on this subject, I'm currently using a 32Gb Class 2 card - is it worth trying this or will a Class 2 card wither and die?

Yea, partitioning is a must, just like you have to create an ext to use APP2SD+.

According to some ppl at XDA who attempted it on Class 2, there was an unacceptable amount of lag. I'm going to try it on my 16 Gb Class 2 tomorrow..If it doesnt work out, I'll use my 4 Gb Class 6, try it out before buying a bigger one

Apparently class 6 or over its best to leave sync on. Class 4 off and class 2 maybe not worth it

Oooooo something new to try... More buttons to push :D

Getting a new class 6 card for Crimbo so will do this Boxing Day :)

Dan,
How does one revert? Is flashing with an unmodified custom ROM enough? And what's the best procedure for switching memory cards? Reflash and redo the commands...

What about Nandroid? Does a Nandroid restore revert the system to a non DATA2SD state (provided the Nandroid was done earlier)?

To revert, titanium backup, data wipe, set up sd card as desired for a2sd+ or whatever, flash Rom, titanium restore.

Nandroid will restore, but you will need to revert your sd partitions first

New sd, I would suspect whole proceedure again. Or maybe nandroid backup, new partition, boot recovery. Do the dd line from adb shell that creates the ext file, nandroid restore

Thanks a lot, Dan..

Hmmm... Fair enough, think I'll need to get a new SD card first then. Pity I can't find a supplier of 32Gb class =>6 cards.

Yes, pity.. :)
I'm stuck with a Class 6, 4 Gb ..Want to check my Quadrant scores with both cards before buying a bigger higher Class card..

I remember reading somewhere that Lexar will start retailing Class 6 32 GB cards in January. Their cards also frequently test well beyond their class too. A lot of the benchmarks I've seen for their 16 GB Class 6 show it performing well above 10 MB/s for read, and at or around 10 MB/s for writing.

I'm getting one of their Class 6 16 GB cards soon for when I take the plunge and root for A2SD+ and they seem to make great stuff in terms of Micro SDHC.

Welcome to the forum.. :)
The Class gives the absolute lower limit of speed. A class 6 should have min 6MBps and a Class 10, 10Mbps. So a good quality card should have better. I read somewhere that Dan's was 13Mbps though the highest (of conventional cards) Class is Class 10 with a Lower limit of 10Mbps

nice one!

i think i'll wait until it's been more thoroughly tested before having a go, will definitely follow his closely, awesome :D

you had a failed s-off? its pretty rare to fail. what happened?

Not sure what the problem was..My Hboot's 0.93. Stock Froyo rooted with Unrevoked. After booting the LiveCD, it proceeded as usual. At the end it told me that "Hboot could not be written. Probably the exploit failed"..Those were the words, more or less..

hmm, odd.
so it did some damage? glad you didnt get a brick

Yup...
Funny thing is I just got it back today from HTC after a month, after an SLCD bricked issue..the one you guys helped me with..on XDA.

But..They've replaced the SLCD with an AMOLED..So I can see what's going on.. :)

Yea..Bootloader seems the same..

It is my phone..But they've replaced the board and the display.. So of course both serial and imei have also changed..
I believe this is the first AMOLED in this country.. :D
I too wonder if the exploit has been patched..But the software versions and Hboot dont give anything away..
