think my battery has died, not holding charge

came into tonite, unplugged tab full charge, within 10 mins died, thought i had not plugged it all the way, gave it an hour 100% charge, again died within 10 mins.

so on charge checked what was running nothing, screen using 89%, android etc using the rest.

closed it down, charged switch off, 100% died just before 8 mins

no new apps in last few days and working fine yesterday

if battery should i give samsung a ring, if i take it back to pcworld guess they will just exchange it, samsung i would hope would change the battery and kept everything that is on at ie aps, movies, pictures etc

any advice would be great, not been rooted, charging with samsung charger and running fine when plugged in

This might be a dumb question because I am sure you already tried this:

Have you tried a Factory reset?
 
thanks guys sorted, charged it overnite switched off, turned it on in morning and back to its normal battery life, fine for last few days

must be a bug in the indicator that crops up every now and then
 
Had something similar with a Samsung 8910i once, the service center reinstalled the software and the problem disappeared. I guess this happens more often ;)
