Root New To Root And Overclock

I've done overclocking on my pc but never on a phone. I installed quickclock and need help with starting. Could I get some guidance from those that know what to do?

HERE ya go....I just did a little write up on how to use QuickClock but I posted it in the wrong section. You'll still need the Droid X overclock app to apply the actual overclocking.

What is it that you need clearing up on?

may be a dumb question but if I only use the scaling that it comes with and set it to 1.15ghz max is it overclocked? Just need some clearing up with that.

Yes it would be, anything higher than the stock 1.0GHz is overclocked. I'm currently overclocked with lower voltage.

Alright I set it to 1.25 @ low voltage. It just seemed a little too easy ya know? On my computer it took me about a week to learn the program plus with no presets and having to figure out what voltage to use with what frequency was complicating.

Oh and is reboot needed?

It's best to not check the "set on boot" option until you're sure your settings work. If you set it to kick in on boot and your settings don't agree with your phone you could get stuck in a boot loop if the phone resets. Give the QuickClock app a try, you can lower the voltage quite a bit. The ULV in the app is deceiving, it is lower than the rest of the voltages but still higher than stock.
