I was using an iPhone 3G but after it getting too slow after the update to v3.x, I was getting annoyed with it. I was in a BestBuy store and handled a few devices and liked the Android operating system, so I picked up the HTC Legend to play with it and get some Android experience. After a day I was hooked on it and will never go back to iPhones. I have since given the Legend to my wife and she loves it, and picked up the Desire for myself. I had to get it unlocked to use on my carrier, but it worked great and I like it a lot. I've since done a flash of the ROM to a generic HTC v2.2 Froyo firmware that is unbranded and unlocked, and now it works even better.

I'm a happy HTC camper now!
:D

I had the HTC Touch Pro first. It had lots of nifty features and was supposed to be "the best of the best" at the time. Quickly I realised that it was so slow and would freeze so frequently that it was not a great choice.

The EVO was next. This is a wonderful phone with only one major defect - it's on Sprint.

Now I have an HD2 with Froyo on T-mobile. So far it is great.

Hero > EVO
When I was planning on upgrading from my Hero I looked at both the Epic and the Evo. Since I was use to HTC platform I loved the Evo. Samsung's platoform seems foreign and not as accessible.

My husband has a Verizon Wireless smart phone from HTC XV6900. He's had it for years and isn't looking to change it out in the near future. He was so happy with HTC that I started looking into one of the HTC devices. Ended up with the Incredible- which is my first HTC device.

I had a G1 for about a month then I finally got rid of T-moblie being with them for about 2-3 years. Switched over to Verzion to get the eris never going back to T-moblie!

I currently have a Sprint HTC Touch Diamond (yes, I know, very lame in 2011). The battery life sucks, but it's still a good looking phone IMO and it's running a WinMo 6.5 ROM from XDA with XANDROID 2.2 loaded as well.

If I get my way (still have to negotiate with the wife :) ) I'll be switching to Verizon and a shiny new Thunderbolt when our Sprint contract is up at the end of March.

HTC Incredible here. I didn't think much of HTC till I got this. Now, I probably won't go for anything but HTC. I absolutely LOVE Sense, even after trying AOSP.

Also got my DInc first day it came out. So in about 14 months or so (hopefully not sooner), when I possibly have a career job ready, I'll get my own Verizon account with an HTC phone again (on my mom's account now).

HTC Touch Pro 2 and I absolutely hate it. Nothing against HTC (other than it has the spec's of a PC 10 yrs ago). I think the main problem is it's running Winmo on it, which creates a very laggy environment (especially being paired with Sense). This phone is not deterring me at all from buying another HTC device though.
