Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Yes you are pretty much correct, you may have to reload some widgets but it more or less puts it right back to how it was when you made the backup, to do this just follow the same directions I gave you before to get into recovery but once your in recovery go to back up / restore and simply select backup and let it run its course ....this should go for about 5 min then it will say its done and reboot.
now to restore that backup just use those same directions to go to recovery and select backup / restore and then select restore .....choose which backup you want and let it do its thing

Awesome. Thanks for going through the steps and confirming everything. I had originally done that when I followed the instructions to SBF and flash my first ROM but I didn't realize or fully understand all that the backup would do. Very much appreciated! Thank you. :)

Yeah thats the entire rom because I swapped all the images before I installed the ApeX rom from the start. I'll see if I can make a zip for just the circle battery tonight

Any update on this? I have been anxiously checking this thread every day to see if you were able to post the zip file. I fell in love with your icons the second i saw them. haha

Thanks in advance!

Wow, I just looked over JRummy's overclock script and it is BEAST!

I made a few little changes to the inner workings though ;)

here's a little preview:

I will ask this again as it may have gotten lost in the thread lol lol...Is it possible to get a clear lockscreen slider and a new themed market for the updated one that just dropped? Awesome Rom again and thanks for all your work... :D:):D

I've been looking the past couple of days trying to learn how to make an update.zip with them and it may just be way over my head lol
I'm gonna try to make a metamorph zip for now though. everything will be packaged up youll just have to use metamorph (fairly simple) to install it.

Sorry if this has been covered in the previous pages. It's 7am and I'm bordering on exhaustion.

Is this weird animation between screens normal? The only way to describe it is that when I change screens, press home, go back, etc. the animation is the previous screen doing random flips until it's out of view. Reminds me of some amateur youtube video editing.

Yes, the screen transitions are build into ApeX. some people like them, some don't, I tend to side with the former.

Thanks for clearing that up. Some of them are good and I don't really notice as much, but others almost make me laugh. Oh well, as long as it's a normal feature for everyone else I'm fine with it.

You can shorten or do away with transitions using the Spare Parts app. There is not, however, a choice to do away with the complex transitions and revert to the standard fade in/fade out.

I inevitably do the same thing for window/screen/menu transitions on all of my computing devices (including my computers). I like them a lot while the device/transitions are new... and I always turn them off by the time the newness is gone.

So I have my Spare Parts transitions set to "none."

I am running Apex 1.0.2.2 with version 2.3.15. I am a newb and want to know how I an update to 2.3.40 and run Apex 1.3. Thanks

Circle Battery Mod steps for MetaMorph
Make a backup before you install this incase something goes wrong as I am not responsible for what you do to your phone. I have tested/installed this on my phone several times with no problems though.
Credit to TheLynxy on XDA for making the images
1)Install MetaMorph from the market if you dont already have it (its free)
2)Download the Circle_Battery.zip and place it in the "AndroidThemes" folder on your SD card. If you dont have that folder on your SD card, make it, and CAPS MATTER
3)Open MetaMorph app and press "start checks"
4)press "Unzip/Extract new theme" then press "Circle_Battery.zip"
the zip will extract then it will bump you out of metamorph (idk why, mines just doing it, but no biggie)
5)go back into metamorph and press start checks again if it pops up
6)press pick existing theme then press the "Circle_Battery" folder then press the next Circle_Battery folder
7)press Circle_Battery.xml (should have a metamorph symbol next to it) when the popup comes up that says Circle Battery v1 press the close button
8)Press "Apply all!" on the bottom right then press "Continue?"
Your phone will now install the circle battery charge and discharge images and will ask if you want to reboot now. Press yes.
Your phone should reboot and install the Circle Battery images that go from blue>green>yellow>orange>red

Thanks!

Fab... Awesome ROM, keep up the great work! Just threw you some beer money...get something a little nice for yourself :)

It worked! Didnt first time because you put one to many folders in there. Meta unzipped it first then gave me an error. I re-entered Meta picked from existing, found it, installed, money. Thanks. Looks great. I havent been through all the %'s but I am assuming it isnt missing the 30,50,90%'s like most the icons I find?

QUIRKS

-The Blur Email app (default email app) will FC if you do not have an account added through My Accounts. Just add an account first.

-If you're using Handcent and cannot send MMS, you'll need to change the native SMS app rom AOSP to Blur in order for Handcent to work properly. In terminal emulator:

Code:
su
messaging -mot
-If you have multiple Email accounts using the Blur app, you'll need to restore the universal inbox:

Code:
su
sys -rw
mv /system/app/Messaging.bak /system/app/Messaging.apk
sys -ro
sync
-If you're using another launcher besides ADW, do not use the 'Search' widget. That's for ADW only. It'll get stuck at the top of your screen if you use it on LauncherPro. Use the 'Google Search' widget instead.

Themes:

Themes from 1.2.1 should be compatible. Get them here:

Themes For ApeX (12/8/10) - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

Extras:

Apps removed from 2.3.320
-You can reinstall Blur apps from this archive by placing the desired .apk files on your sd card and then using the install script!

EXCELLENT WORK Fab. Newbie here. Where are your custom scripts (fabadw, install, uninstall) scripts located ? Do I have to wipe cache if using Revo 1.2 theme ?
