Hi, I was trying to follow your instructions as I am trying to change the bootanimation on my phone. However, I have two "data" folders; One is on the phone core files and one on the sdcard. Neither one of them have a second "local" folder. I am assuming the bootanimation file will go in the core files. Can I just create a new folder in that folder?

Also, do I have to unzip the file before placing it in the folder?? Thanks

I do not know if putting the bootanimation.zip in that location is the proper way, but I can tell you that if you put it in /system/media (the .zip, not extracted, not on the sdcard) it works great. This is where I put mine it works perfect, I never touch the one in /system/bin (I do not think you should be in there for at least this).
 
Didn't Fab or someone else post a file that would eliminate your battery notification completely? I have been through this monster thread completely and can't find it.
 
Fab quick question related to icons on top of the screen:

1. My "Google Sync" icon is constantly on. Is it supposed to be like this? Or should it disappear like in the stock ROM?

2. My alarm icon is very eratic. Sometimes it's on and sometimes it just disappears. When I come out of standby, sometimes it flashes on and off. Any idea why that is?
 
I loaded this up last night and it seems to be running great. I added the goodies but still only have android keyboard or swype and when sideways the keyboard is a little small. It is fine when vertical. But the biggest issue I am seeing is that it wont play my music. I tried the stock player as well as mixzing and it just gives an error. Also when I tried to use pandora and after loading up the album cover it gave an error saying unable to retrive music from pandora.com. Are these known problems? What are the fixes? Thanks for the help.

I know the sync icon used to stay up in the old roms if you used titanium backup to restore system data. You didn't by chance do that did you?
 
Thanks for getting back to me. I checked my kernel and your right I am not running the right kernal I am running 2.6.32.9-ga42712e. I suppose that is because I came from RC2. My pics and videos work fine its just my music thats not working. Anyway how do I go about loading up the right kernal? Thanks for the help.

heres a crazy question how can i just take the notification bar/icons(3g,wifi etc) from the revolution theme and flash it over. i just want the notification bar bc i think revolutions notifications are nicer than gingerbread

Yep, have to wipe and flash again. Titanium across roms is generally ok to use for apps+data but you should never use the system settings restore.

Tom, try booting into your bootloader (holding volume down and camera during power up) and checking the version.

If it is 30.01, you can use the 2.3.15 SBF to get back to stock, and accept the OTA update to 2.3.340, from where you can reroot and load Apex.

If you have 30.03 or higher, you can use the 2.3.320 full SBF to get to the leaked 2.2.1 state, from where you can load Apex. Furthermore, you can also get the updated baseband and kernel from MyDroidWorld to make your phone up to date with the OTA versions.
 
I am running 30.04 And I am stuck on bootup at a page that says

OK to Program

Data Cable


Besides that I cant find the 2.3.320 full SBF anywhere to download. Sorry I am lacking in skills. haha

HELP ME. Ima noob! I BRICKED MY PHONE!

1. go to Droid X: 2.3.32 Full SBF and DL the leaked full OTA FROYO 2.2.1 .SBF file.
2. Download and install RSDLite v4.8 (it should be on Home if not, go Google it.)
3. If your phone is stuck on the load screen, pull the battery, wait a minute, push the battery back in and restart with the phone
 
Sorry I dont mean to be be a pain but I did what you said but when I plug in my phone my computer doesn't recognize it, which I assume is normal, then when I hit start in RSD Lite it doesn't do anything.

I'm now running apex 1.3.1 and loving it! I also downloaded nexolution theme, also liking it alot. Now my questions are im getting double text notify's. I went to the app drawer and saw the text mess app and I froze it in TIBU! I run handcent for texts and it works good now, how do I get the app out of the app draws? And when I end a call I.see the default lock screen for a sec and then widget locker kicks in! How do I fix it to where I.don't see the default lock screen at all?
 
My main button on the dock no longer opens up the App Tray...it opens up Maps. How can I change this back? I have no idea how it changed in the first place. Also, it has a picture from an icon pack on it, which I also don't want, but I can not seem to reset my main button on the dock to the default..

You need to add a custom shortcut to your homescreen. You can do this by long pressing a blank spot.

For the activity, choose launcher activities, and you should be able to get the app screen shortcut. Then, just drag it back.

Then, remember that the trash is up top ;)
