Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

I did the same as you except I DID NOT restore system data and I still had the same problem.

I ended up restoring missing apps and some specific data pieces which I didn't think would effect the rom and it worked fine.

Hey, hate to ask lol but how do i change the text where "Verizon Wireless" is ? i'm not sure if it changes from rom to rom but Jrummy's had a script that did it but the same script isn't working on this rom... Thanks in advance!!

Check this out. I have used this over and over since I keep flashing new ROM's all the time. Hope that helps.

ok, maybe i missed it, but i've just finished reading the whole thread (yes all 21 pages of posts) my god are the same questions asked over and over and over...

mine just deals with the gb keyboard. i've downloaded the GoodGB_KB.zip to sdcard, install via bootstrap, but when i go to terminal i just have the same 3 keyboards to choose from.
what am i missing to get the newer gb keyboard?

also, i know fab updated to 1.3.1, if i install this over my 1.3.0 and don't wipe data/cache what's going to change?

When you install the zip the GB keyboard will automatically update. It is just a bit taller is all. Not that huge of a difference.

As for the changes there is a change log on the first post with everything that has been added/fixed. The rest is the same.

Ok since I didn't get an answer I will ask you Fab directly, did you create a zip file that removes the batery icon completely from the notification bar? Something that will allow me to reinstall later if I don't like not having the battery icon.

No I never made a battery removal file, just one to remove the clock.
 
Hey guys sorry I tried to look through most of this thread but didnt find the exact response I was looking for.

I am on apex 3.0 was jw do I need to format data and cache before flashing apex 3.1?? Anything else I need to do before coming from 3.0?

Also what apps do you guys use to backup your apps?? Tibu? Thanks guys, and ofcourse thanks for all your work fab!
 
the OP says you don't have to wipe data/cache to update from 1.3.0 to 1.3.1 and i just did it and had no problems!

Hi, thanks for the response...I am still having trouble placing this file on my system. I am using Astro file manager and I am able to copy the file from the sdcard, however when I move to the System/media folder, I can't paste it into it. What am I doing wrong?
 
Don't know if this has been posted yet but I was running 1.3 switched to dark slide and just restored the android of apex1.3. Now my 3G seems significantly slower and when I go into the market to update my apps it just asks me to retry over and over, any ideas?
 
So I came from an SBF'd from .315 to .320. Then SBF'd to .340. Z4 root, busybox, etc, etc. Loaded the 1.3.0 ROM, upgraded to 1.3.1. Later that day I installed the 928 Blackglass Theme.

All of the sudden today, I get the OTA update for install and I got to my settings and now I'm on .315. WT?

Did you clear your cache/reset before restoring your backup?
