[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

looks like some new rumors floating around. all we need is one good rumor and this thread will explode, and ces just around the corner...

I would find it very hard to believe that Verizon wouldn't have an LTE handset until Q3 2011. If this is true, either Verizon or HTC would lose a customer (HTC if MOTO has an LTE device).

To be honest, I wouldn't put a lot of weight into what the CEO of HTC had to say. He is under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with Verizon and really shouldn't have said anything but I am sure he just rattled off a reply because he was put on the spot. My guess is HTC will launch an LTE device in Q1, Mid-Feb to early March.

in my opinion CEO's tend to know more than vzw reps lol! besides, we will see a lte handset before Q3 at least.

anyway i will probbly skip this phone. i am enjoying my x (50 plus hours with an ext batt on a single charge:D) and am looking beyond the inc hd at this point.

coulda shoulda woulda released in 11-2010;).

they will have LTE phones before then, no one said they wouldnt

I don't doubt they will either, however, I am guessing you didn't read the link or see the fact that the CEO of HTC said that they will not have an LTE Handset until the 2nd half of 2011.

HTC Mecha 4G Smart Handset for LTE Networks to Come Only by Second Half of 2011 - GizmoCrave
you didnt quote anyone in your post. I read the article but you didnt say HTC, you just said "Verizon wouldn't have an LTE handset until Q3 2011" which is what my statement was in response to

plenty of phones passed FCC and were sold withing days

Torch got certified on aug 3 and was onsale by the 12th i think
Storm 2 was cert on Oct 18th and sold on the 28th
iphone 3gs Jun 8th and sold june 19th

so i dont quite see what your point is.

All carriers don't approach release the same way, and Verizon is not one to rush a phone, so the Torch and iphone examples are not valid here.

Droid 8/12 --> 11/6
Eris 9/15 --> 11/6
Incredible 2/9 --> 4/29
Droid X 3/24 --> 7/15
Fascinate 7/14 --> 9/8
Continuum 6/22 --> 11/11

Aside from two exceptions with RIM, Verizon phones just don't go from FCC to the store in a matter of days. That's my point.

Good find, can't wait for CES, you know when they won't say a word about the phone and wait until the middle of April to let anything official out and then 2 weeks later it'll be on the shelves ;). Oh and we can't forget a magical box showing up at some point in between... ;)

Yep. It's all over the blogs. I am betting that we will see it sooner than later. ;)

Hopefully we see it, but hopefully we see it for sale soon! I am all for baby steps though, so bring on the pictures, announcement or anything related!

So, since this is an lte device, does that mean that more than likely the data plan for this phone will see an increase over the current data plan?
