Root Mother Effin' GPS

So I've been having GPS issues since Verizon pushed out Froyo. No one seems to have a solution (or to even care) because it seems to affect such a small group of users.

I tried factory resets, a fresh install of the update after Froyo, and yesterday I tried flashed Virtuous 3.2 + Custom Kernel v3. MY GPS STILL PUTS ME ALL OVER THE WORLD.

ok, do you think it's a hardware issue? does this ROM also have the GPS problem? If I just b**ch and complain to VZW can I get a new phone?

Uhhh, first step when you found out it didn't work after the Froyo push was to take it back to a VZ store and tell them you have bad hardware and want a new phone. If it's not going to work stock, it's probably not going to work flashed.

Un-rom it, unroot it, and take the bish right back to the nearest VZ store asap.

theres an app called GPS status that you can use to recalibrate your gps. I used it when my gps was having trouble finding me and it fixed the problem immediatly

It worked before Froyo :( I have an AMOLED screen and I don't want it to get swapped with an SLCD

Great suggestion! I will give it a shot...

EDIT: Do I just open the app and leave it alone or is there a special calibration step somewhere?

EDIT: Never mind, I'm ret*rded...

Technically they have to swap it with an AMOLED from what I've been reading, so come hell or high water you should get an AMOLED as a replacement. Good luck and report back, I'm interested in knowing what happened.

did you try flashing 2.1?

I would go to bone stock rooted 2.1 official and hard reset through hboot.
then flash recovery, upgrade radio and nandroid back to your current rom.
