Root Factory Reseted, Cant Remove Clockwordmod

Hi everybody.
I was rooted with Z4root
Updated to the latest system 2.3.340 android 2.2.1 and rooted again with no problem.

some apps started to not load so I used clockworkmod to recovery from a previous backup.

After I restored the backup it returned to factory setting. Like I hard reset the phone??? I know I did something probably wrong.

Anyways, got a refurbished droidX and need to remove Clockworkmod from phone in order to send it back. I tried to google it and still am confused.

What do I need to do to have a total factory reset phone without Clockworkmod?

Thanks guys.

All hail the root

google clockwork remove. i was looking for something else a while back to do with clockwork and remember seeing alot of remove clockwork threads.

Doing an SBF with the latest full sbf will take you back to stock and probably the easiest way to go.

Can't you uninstall through Settings > Applications > Manage select CWM and select uninstall?

already googled remove clockwork, still confused about the whole deal. Looked through Settings > Applications > Manage select CWM and select uninstall and can't find the damn sucker.

I am thinking of z4root again, reinstall titanium and uninstall it again.

If anybody has a simple solution that they already have that would be very useful. When I post its when I have tried everything myself or scared to do anything else.

Thanks guys.

I am not a newbie at all. Been rooting the original droid and HTC incredible from the beginning.

Does my phone have to be rooted to see the Droid X Bootstrapper on the list because I don't see it.

And I guess I need to look at SBF. Never bother to learn about it or try it.

You think I should follow the unbrick instructions even though my phone is not bricked, its working fine and I have the lastest OTA installed?

Damn it, if I had known its going to be such a headache I would have never installed this clockworkdmod recover. I know everybody says its important, but I need to return my phone :(

If you are trying to remove clockworkmod so that you can return the phone, then yes. I would SBF the phone back to stock before sending it in to remove all traces of root.

Thank you, will do.

I really appreciate everybody trying to help me out. What would I do without this forum.

Thank you guys.

Anytime! This forum (and the Original Droid) have been very helpful and I would have been lost without all of the great people here!

Its is amazing what I can do with my Droid X and its all because 100% of this forum AKA the members. Every time somebody wants to check out my droid X they can't figure out how customized it is.

Thank you Caveman419

I did exactly what you wanted me to do which is to use RSDlite and install the SBF file.

Back to original and now I even know what to do if I brick my phone in the future.

if you are a newbie and and to root or anything else, I highly recommend learning what SBF is about because one day you may need it.

You're very welcome. I glad to help. If I can repay half of the knowledge that I have gained from this board then I will be happy.
