[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

With all this "staged" amd "leaked" info I am really believing this thing is releasing soon. As far as the FCC, I know that companies can file stuff silently for a certain amount of time.

So my guess, this has been submitted through already and we will have this soon.

Agreed.

I'm still hesitant about VZW's 4G -- it all comes down to the monthly surcharge, I suppose. If it's more than $10, it's probably not worth it for me.

Love it ;)

Any release date in mind?

No idea yet. And I don't want to be the start of a launch date rumor ;)

So, since this is an lte device, does that mean that more than likely the data plan for this phone will see an increase over the current data plan?

Plan pricing hasn't been disclosed yet. But, if it's like the BBA plans, I wouldn't expect to see any increase just for LTE.

It probably won't be out till end of January at the very soonest (my opinion).

Broad Band Access, aka laptop data plan. That's the only devices out there that are using LTE. The price for those plans went from $59/mo to $50.

Ah, I see -- the BBA plans for the MiFi and the 4G modems are both $50 for 5GB.

I wonder if we'll see non-unlimited data plans for the IncHD?

Well, I would like to see both, and obviously dual-core is better than single core.

And triple-core is better still?

My point is that dual-core phones are overkill. I never had speed issues on my EVO, and my friends with DIncs or D-Xs don't either. They all DO suffer from the same 10 to 15 hour MAX battery life.

Why add more battery-sucking components to a phone that doesn't need it?

They will announce this and Sprint will have the dual core and 4.8" screen come out at the same time. Evo and Incredible all over again.

Lol, yep. And if so, I will be getting the Motorola or LG device. However, if this is dual core....HTC here I come! When I sign a contract for a phone, it has to be the most advanced technology available.

Dual core is overkill? And it sucks more battery than the single core? Interesting, I didn't know that we had someone in these threads that could speak on this from experience. Please, tell me more, based on your usage of dual core processors. I don't know about you, but the only fact we know without using the phone is that dual-core is more advanced, and faster than single core. Every generation, the specs get better. What it sounds like is that you just prefer inferior specs.

Whoa, sorry, I didn't mean for this to get heated.

Why would I prefer inferior specs? I prefer a better experience.

Dual-core means two cores. Two is bigger than one. Bigger means more power. More power means less battery life.

I'm not saying I don't like high-spec'd phones -- I do -- I'm just saying I'm hoping for a 24-hour battery more than I'm hoping for a higher clock speed or more cores. More cores on my phone's processor won't do me any good -- Angry Birds runs just fine with 1 core.

It's just my $.02, anyway.

1.5 wouldn't be as fast as dual core 1.0, but its better than just a single core 1.0. With that being the case, I'd possibly consider it.

That depends on the software -- the manufacturers have to write software that can take advantage of dual-core processors.

Two 1GHz processors do NOT equal one 2GHz processor.

I hear you, but that's an assumption. The dual cores may be more efficient than the older single core and be better on battery life. We don't know
The only thing that we do know is that dual cores running at 1.0 each, is faster than a single core 1.0

No one said it would be 2GHz. We all were discussing it based on 1GHz. Obviously if it were 2GHz, there would be no complaints.

Let's wait and see. Does anyone know if Android (or any other mobile OS) can take advantage of two cores? Windows had to be re-written for that purpose, as did Mac OS X.
